Autoimmune Hepatitis

Diagnosis: Chronic active hepatitis with marked interface components and bridging fibrosis. Ulcerative colitis and hypothyroidism.
Can I pass onto my partner any sexual diseases?
I am taking prednisone, imuran and losec, can any of these medications cause
sores in the mouth (tongue)?

Thanks for the support ladies, it's so nice to have you all apart of my life. No matter how family and friends try to understand what I'm going through it's not the same.
Rockmelon: I know it must be tough wanting to have a baby but going through this disease and all the medication. Remember you are young and you have your entire life ahead of you. You are doing just great controlling this disease. I had my first child when I was 29. Be strong and positive, I'm sure everything will work out.
I have thrown up a lot during this disease. When ever my numbers were high all I did was throw up.
Erin: What kind of jewelery are you making. I think that's great.
Good luck with your next labs I'm crossing my fingers.
Kim: I think your doing the right thing also by waiting for you next labs.

Erin, jewelrey making?  Sounds fun.  What kind of stuff are you making???  Maybe I'll have you  make me something.  You'll have to let me know the cost...It'll remind me of my wonderful AIH friends!  8 days for the next blood draw, huh?  My nurse said I can go on Monday if I want, or I can wait until the following Monday.  I think I'm going to wait until the following Monday.  I want to give my body every opportunity to get its numbers where they belong!  Ha ha...

Everything's the same here for me. Next blood draw in 8 days and hopefully I'll get down to 10mg.

My new hobby: cross-stitching and jewelery making :)

You are completely correct.  A lot of people have much worse problems.  You are doing really well w/your AIH.  5 mg must seem like nothing!!! I'm sure the pregnancy issue has to be tough, you'll get through it and you'll make the right decision.  Good luck w/starting Imuran back up.  I had to switch to 6 MP and so far it has been great.  So don't worry if you don't do well on the imuran again, if they switch you you'll be great.

Well It great to hear that your off the steriods!! I am on my way to joining you.  I am on 5 mg now half a tablet until sat then it all over I think I might celebrate.  I have been off the imuran and no throwing up.  Since my doctor and he wants me to try 25 mg and work back up to 50 and stay at 50mg.  If I get sick again at 25mg he will be starting on 6MP.

A lot of worries about getting pregnant on these drugs , makes me wonder if I will get to have kids.  If those pills dont work there is no more I can try but the dont recommend it . then I get to gamble with taking nothing and hope for the best.  I guess thats a 25 % chance not so good odds.  So I am starting the Imuran again hopefully no getting sick!.

You ladies have been such a great outlet for me in dealing with this.  It soo hard being 24 and having these problems, but i just keeping telling myself so many people have worst problems.

Oh my goodness Sara that is awesome, awesome, news!!!!!!!!!!  Congratulations...Man, I don't think words can ever express how wonderful you must be feeling...I am so happy for you....

I hope the throwing up gets better for you.  I wonder what that is all about?  Probably just another change the body is going through.  You are doing the right thing, just work through it.

I am not experiencing the hair loss.  I know they said that is a side effect of prednisone and imuran.  So I'm sure it'll stop for you since you are off the prednisone.  I know for sure it is a side effect of the imuran.  It'll stop!!
