Today the Rheum at Mayo called to say that based on my blood test, I have Sjogren's syndrome and he is recommending Plaquenil. I am wondering if it could be something else even though he seems quite sure (but he never looked in my eyes or mouth while in office).
I don't feel like I have dry mouth and my eyes have been dry on a daily basis for more than 10 years, but hardly ever with the sandy-gritty feeling I have read about. Every year I tell the eye doctor during exam, and am always gold to put in the OTC lubricating drops.
BLOOD Immunology Tests:
slight positive ANA = 1.1 (normal is 0-1)
positive SS-B/La Ab, IgG = 4.1 (normal is 0-0.9)
RF quan = 85 (normal is 0-14)
everything else was in normal range (SS-A/Ro Ab IgG, SM Ab, IgG S, RNP Ab IgG S, Scl 70 Ab IgG S
The other recent new DX's from various specialists at the Mayo: dysautonomia (mostly cardiogenic type), fibromyalgia/central sensitivity syndrome, joint hypermobility syndrome (have always known I am double jointed).
Hi my name is Jennifer and I am 36yrs old. HAve been diagnosed with Lupus, Sjogren's and Fibro. I have high levels of Anti-Ro auto-antibodies. I was so excited to read your post because you mentioned something about Dysautonomia. My symptoms started with migranes and "passing out" episodes and no one knew what was wrong with me. This started in 2005 and what a journey i took to get diagnosed. They couldn't figure me out so a well referred rheumy told me it was in my head. I was then told I have autonomic neuropathy, but this was based on syncopal episodes, my blood pressure bottoms down. I have learned to try to keep as hydrated as possible. ANA 1:1280 last time checked. Extremely Cold hands and feet, dizzy, feeling "out of sorts" sometimes. Can you please offer any suggestions. Also take Fludrocortisone and salt tablets and Midodrine Plaquenil and Mobic. I know that this goes with territory, but i feel that there is some problem with circulation?? Been checked for seizures but came back normal. Still experience times when I am out of it, not passed out, just very fatigued, dizzy, mental confusion. Which direction do I go?? Thanks
