Thanks to both of you. I have made an appointment to see the doctor re: his "diagnosis". I will get back to you on the outcome. In the meantime, I'm applying for (crappy) insurance which ***** but at since it's mandatory to have ins, it will keep me employed.
Thanks again.
The dx for MS is through MRI of brain and spine. If you haven't had either of these done I don't see how your dr could dx you with MS. I would go down to his office and demand some answers.
If he thinks you have it, he should order the tests. BUT thinking you might have it doesn't mean that you do and should be no reason for your ins to deny you coverage on something you haven't even been tested for.
A wait and see attitude is dangerous for this type of disease. It won't kill you but it can debilitate you IF you don't get on meds to help stabilize you. The symptoms you described can be many many things including MS. There are a lot of mimics and lots of other things need to be ruled out. Good luck!

my boss has MS and i have heard that it can cause numbness but it can also cause paralysis. i am pretty sure with MS you will have lesions on either your spine or your brain. My boss had to have an MRI her lesions were on her spine so she had to have a spinal tap. She takes injections either daily or weekly, i can't remember. I don't know how she takes it personally, like i don't see how she is at home but she seems to handle it very well at work, i know she said it was really hard to get you to giving herself the injections though. Good luck, i would push for an MRI if you have to, see a different doctor and tell them the other doctors you saw suspected MS and you were hoping to get some further investigating done.
