Confusion about recent blood results tested for celiac disease

Hi,
My doctor tested me for celiac disease and the results came back today. They said i have a high number of it or something like that cant remember the exact details and that i need to get tested again in three months. I would go to my doctor but cant get an appointment until the end of the week and i really need to understand whats going on. does this mean that i do have celiac disease and if so why do i need to be tested again, it is my understanding that celiac disease is not something you normally 'grow' out of.

Request your lab results. Celiac's disease is a genetic, permanent autoimmune disease.  For accurate diagnostic test results, you must be on a gluten diet.

Serologic tests look for three antibodies common in celiac disease:

Anti-tissue transglutaminase (tTG) antibodies
Endomysial antibodies (EMA)
Antigliadin antibodies (AGA)

Abnormally elevated tTG and EMA means you have a greater than 95% chance of having celiac disease.  AGA are less reliable and have a high false positive rate.  For this reason, an abnormally elevated AGA does not necessarily indicate celiac disease.

AGA levels are useful in monitoring the response to treatment as AGA levels usually begin to fall within several months of successful treatment of celiac disease with a gluten free diet. An intestinal biopsy is the gold standard for the diagnosis of Celiac Disease.
