Do Blood Tests Show A Suppressed Immune System?

by liverbelching, Oct 02, 2009 12:06AM
I have autoimmune hepatitis.  I am currently on 150mg imuran and 20mg prednisone daily.  This treatment IS keeping my AIH under control.  When I go off it, my LFTs rise right up again.  I am assuming this means it IS suppressing my immune system.

However, none of my WBC counts are low.  Is there something that is not checked in a CBC that would confirm that my immune system is actually suppressed?

Does the fact none of my blood counts are low mean I'm not more susceptible to other infections?

Any thoughts, experiences, etc., are much appreciated.

Thanks,
