Finding Sjogrens Drs?

by geyedlady, Oct 17, 2009 12:22AM
I am having such a difficult time finding a doctor who specializes in Sojgren's - some of the rheumatologists are NOT that educated in it.  The Soj. Association does not give referrals.  I live in Iowa.  Can go to the Univ of Iowa, but again, not all the rheum. there are very well educated in this disease.  Is there someone or a directory or book that gives names of medical folks who are good in this area?  Help.  Thanks.  Geyedlady  or Julie at ***@****

Boy, isn't that the truth!  Wish I could help you, but I don't live anywhere near Iowa.  The only other thing I can think of is to check sjogrensworld.org.  I didn't see any listings on their site, but they have a "buddy program" and they might be able to hook you up with someone close to you that has an informed doctor.  Good luck!

University of Minnesota has a Sjogren's Clinic, you can google it for the information.  I also have Sjogren's and live in Iowa City, work right across the street from UI Hospital, but am going to make the drive to Univ. of Minnesota because of the specialization.
