Granuloma Thyroid Nodule

Just had multi-nodule thyroid removed. One nodule showed granuloma cells. I also have a pos. autoimmune blood test. Have had irisitois caused by the auto-immune. Achy all over at times, joint pain, fatigue. No one can give it a name. Someone mentioned Wagners...great 5 months to live...I really don't think that is it. Kidneys are fine. A rhuemetologist said not enough symptoms to be Lupis. Who should I see?

Hope you are doing well. Nothing definite with me, except nonspecific autoimmune disease, possibly sarcoidosis. Eyes being treated with prednisone drops. If they flare agin after weaning down drops I will have to go on Methotrexate which can have some not so nice side effects. I have been fighting to stay off it. Docs want me to give it a chance because I may get rid of fatigue and aches. So still in limbo. You take care.

Hi, Sorry to take so long to get back to check on you. How did you go with your doctor? Did you get a result? Sarcoidosis is very hard to have diagnosed, I went through a very long time before finally having 4 biopsies done confirming it.
MarC1Xlll  would be interested to hear, hope your feeling better, beachy123

Thanks for your opinion. Saw the Doctor yesterday, also thinks it could be sarcoidosis. Will be getting more tests and seeing the rhuemetologist soon.
My eyes again are inflamed and vision is blurred and have found out that sarcoidosis can cause that too. Thanks so much for your input and best of health to you!

Thanks for the info. Will see the Dr. on The 12th, will mention it to her. Have had sinus issues also for years...Who knows. I think I was happier not knowing anything, than paying out money just to be confused...Good luck to you!

ask them to test for sarcoidosis, It's not easy to have diagnosed, it took them about 8 years to diagnose me, finally took 4 biopsies of granulomas which  were positive. Makes you very achy all over, can effect most organs, I have had thyroid cancer, papillary carcinoma, had whole thyroid removed, good luck, I'll keep an eye out for your comments
