HEPC

My husband has been recently diagnosed with HEPC.  I've been tested with negative results.  We don't know how long he's had it but liver damage is stage one according to Dr.  Husband is a heavy drinker (nights and week-ends) and refuses to stop so the Dr. understandably won't begin treatment.  He apparently doesn't feel that his condition is serious because he only has "headaches" and HBP and he continues to "go to work!"  What can I do and what are the chances of me becoming infected?  How long can he continue without treatment before more serious symptons occur?

Tell your husband that many people with Hep C don't feel sick- thats why its called "the silent killer."
I have hep c also - my husband doesn't. They say the risk is small as far as sexual transmission, but IMO its best to use protection -and especially because male to female is more of a risk than female to male.

Your husband needs to go get help for his alcohol problem. Drinking is like throwing gasoline on the fire.

There is a forum for "hepatitus (hepatitis) C." Click on forums above and you will see 2 forums. You will get alot of support and will learn alot about the disease. If you can get your husband to read the posts, it may help him understand that he needs to take care of himself if he wants to live.

I wish you the best!
