I know several of us here at MedHelp know what you are going through.
I agree with your dr. that something autoimmune could be going on here. Realize that these diseases are very complex and sometimes are progressive. Drs. don't jump in too quickly with a diagnosis. The only advice I would have for you is to spend some time in the sunActinic keratosis Fontanelles - sunken Liver spots Sun protection Sunburn Sunburn first aid Sunken fontanelles (superior view) prior to your visit on the 9th. Maybe an hour or two before your visit, spend at least 30 min. in the sun. I see you are from Indiana. It is probably already really cold there. I'm not sure if a tanning salon would have the same affect. I know they advise lupus patients to stay away from these salons. What happens is, if you have lupus the sun exposure will cause an immune response and cause your ANA to really jump up. This will help expediate a dx as well as some treatment.
I pray that you do not have lupus, but if you do there are many folks here that can help you walk through this. They were sure here for me when I had twenty questions.
