I seem to catch everything nowadays

Back in February, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease. I began, and am still taking, Levothyroxine .100mg.

However, lately I feel like I've been catching everything. I was always the type of person who hardly got sick or caught a cold. I now feel like my life is a cold. Because of this, there are times I'm afraid to go out and socialize, and to others, it just looks like a lame excuse; because, well, I can't ALWAYS be sick, right? I won't mention other symptoms I have, that's a whole different story.

I've heard that having autoimmune disease weakens your immune system; or the medication at least? I always believed it was for more serious illnesses like Lupus or Arthritis. I've read so many different things on weakened immune systems due to autoimmune, yet I don't know what's real or fake. Could it be possible I really am catching everything? I recently found out my family has Swine Flu, and some came to visit yesterday. I washed my hands like mad; and hope I don't end up catching that as well. Anyway, thanks.

Thank you so much! I've been looking into getting something natural, so thanks for leading me in the right direction.

If you have general immune problems, then I suggest that you consider using some natural supplements before considering stronger drugs.  Often this is sufficient for many people. Some examples are Transfer Factor, Immune stimulating natural products, etc.  A partial list of the most effective of these for chronic illness patients can be found in Publication #2 under Treatment Considerations on our website, www.immed.org
