LOW NEUTROPHILS

Does anyone know anything about this.  If you keep losing neutrophils, what connective tissue diseases might it be?

My white count is already 2.1 and my neutrophils keep getting low.

Back in 1998 when I became sick with CFS, my Hematologist did a bone marrow biopsy.  But the results showed that the marrow was good.  The problem was when the white cells enter the bloodstream, my body is attacking them.

I've never had infections and I never get sick.  So my Rheumy said that part of my body must be working properly.  My Rheumy is having me get CBC done again in February.  If it's still bad, then I will be sent back to a Hematologist and possibly have a biopsy this time.

For some reason I am losing alot of neutrophils over time.  It's way below number.  In fact. just since April, I've lost more in this little bit of time.

Low neutrophils can be caused by having an enlarge spleen, or if you are on chemo for something like cancer.  It can be bad if you get infections, because you won't be able to fight them as well.  I don't have low neutrophils, but I have VERY low lymphocytes, almost none. The best thing is to stay in communication with your DR.
