Monday is the big day..

Well I had a positive ANA test result earlier this month (1:640) I've been so sick and suffering for the past 4 months and just getting so frustrated! My primary care doctor wasn't really concerned with the ANA test and wanted to get me to hematology first...I wasn't thrilled with that but I'm now on weekly iron IV infusions and hopefully that'll help me out a little bit. But the good news is that I have my first appt with rheumatology on Monday. It's weird to look forward for something like that but I am. My PCP told me she thought I might have lupus due to my symptoms but when my ANA came back positive, the lupus panel came back negative. Does that mean I don't have lupus? And does anyone know what I can expect on my first rheumatology appt?

Hello,

I have had a high ANA twice and then another time it was normal.  All my docs tell me that ANA isn't a definite diagnosis for anything as it can and does fluctuate.  I also had a high sed rate last year but now it is normal.  The docs said the same thing about that test.  I have been going through this for 6 yrs and still have no diagnosis!!!  I have seen numerous docs including 2 rheumy's who did absolutely nothing for me and just basically wrote me off.  I don't know what to do.  I am so tired of this!!!!!!!!!!!!  What are your symptoms?
