Myasthenia Gravis?.... Or something else?

Hi all,

I just wanted some opinions from people that suffer with MG or people that suffer with something that has the same symptoms that I have...

My doctor suspects I have MG and has done blood tests (which we are waiting for the results) referred me to a neurologist for an MRI (which I am waiting for an appointment)

I am a 30 year old female and for the past 4-5 months I have had:

* double vision (that can last 20mins-6 hours)
* ringing in ears
* lightheaded feeling for days on end
* severe tiredness
* episodes of heaviness in arms (i can't move them) that triggers nausea and feeling like I may faint (this lasts 30 mins each time)
* muscle twitching in eye that can last hours
* constant pressure feeling in head

I have read up on MG and I just don't think it is what i am suffering from...

I just wondered if there was anyone else out there that suffers with these symptoms and knows what it could be?

Until your blood tests come back, it is difficult to get a firm picture of your condition.  Most of your symptoms are non-descriptive, meaning that they can't be used for a differential diagnosis.  The lab results will help.

Often in nonspecific neuropathy and muscle weakness along with thyroid problems and eye problems chronic infections are found that are neurotrophic (nerve cell attracted).  You should probably be checked for Mycoplasma and other infections that can invade nerves and glands like the thyroid glan.

Have you been checked for Lupus or Undifferentiated connective tissue disease?
Has your B-12 and Vitamin D levels been checked?

I am currently on Methyl/Prednilisone which keeps my symptoms to tolerable levels. I am also on B-12 shots and Vitamin D.

I have also tried Methotrexate and Lyrica but had a reaction to it.

I am sorry you are having a rough time. Hope they figure it out soon.
