Pediatric vitiligo

Hi,
My son is 7 years old and he was recently diagnosed with Vitiligo.

The doctor prescribed Vanos cream (fluconicide 0.1%). I would like to know how treatable is this disease. What are the chances to stop its spread using this steroid cream? How safe is Vanos for children as young as 7 years? The cream has been prescribed for 4 weeks. The literature says that the cream should not be used more than 2 weeks and not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
