I have had 2 EMGs done before but at that time it was determined that I had nerve damage. I was first diagnosed with Lumbar Sacral Radiculopathy and now Idiopathic Peripheral Neuropathy. I also suffer with Degenerative Disc Disease and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Since October I have had a lump on my elbow, well not directly on the elbow but on the side and my entire left arm has pain and some swelling including shoulder and left side of my chest hurts when I breathe. I have had chest xrays done of my chest, elbow and shoulder and they are all normal. My MRI shows at L4-L5 minimal disc bulge that touches the thecal sac and also at L5-S1 lateral disc protrusion which makes an impression upon the thecal sac and causes some mild right neural formina narrowing.
Hi sweetie7120 and welcome to the forum.
ANA positive 1:360 titer, nucleoar pattern - associated with scleroderma and polymyositis. But it's only an indicative test, not a diagnosis.
It is suggestive of A/I disease, but there could be a positive ANA
in people with no A/I disease.
The abnormal creatine kinase, indicates that there might be some muscular or membrane injury/trauma or damage.
Do you have the details of your tests perhaps?
The abnormal CRP indicates presence of inflammation in your body from
certain conditions.
The above results with a complete clinical evaluation will help your doctor
diagnose your condition.
Besides those, an EMG and a biopsy would be necessary to confirm Polymyositis, as this would be the likelier of the 2 suspected conditions,
according to your test results so far.
Just my own observations and opinion, not meant as a substitute for
medical consultation.
Hope it helps and please post again.
