Positive Urine Drug Test

I recently had a drug test at the doctors office.
I am on two opiate pain medications.
Last month they said I came up positive for heroin.
I also take a lot of high blood pressure medication, cholesterol meds, COPD meds,
glaucoma drops in my eyes, and a medication for toe nail fungus.

How could I possibly get a positive result for heroin?
I get drug tested every month at the pain doctors office.
They also send the urine to a lab.
They say it's to make sure I'm taking my medications.

I don't understand how this could happen.

Thats crazy! If the drugs have similar molecular structures then they should know that. How do you get them to believe you not on drugs when they have lab results saying u are? My husband actually **** tested me without my knowledge by using my urine after i urinated in toilet and it showed oxycontin and i nvr did drugs and esp not that one. Believe me try convincing your husband that test is wrong. So i sympathize with you.

It is fine. Susan. No worries. You don't need to remove it.

I'm answering your question, anyway.

The molecular structures of heroin and oxycodone are almost identical.
Are you on OxyContin or Percocet which both contain oxycodone ?
If yes, did you perhaps exceed your recommended dose prior to your testing?

The lab urine testing is likely because you might have been flagged and they want to verify their suspicion.
It's a nice way they put it, telling you they are doing it to make sure you are taking your meds, however, what I think is that they really had in mind instead of "taking" is "abusing" your meds!

But again this is just my opinion.

I hope you get this sorted out soon!

Best wishes,
Niko
