RA cause COPD?

I read somewhere that since RA was an autoimmune disorder it can cause COPD.  I wanted to go back and read the article again but I couldn't find it.  I was wondering if it could be true.

Hi!

Well, recent research is pointing towards an autoimmune component in COPD. However, this component is thought to be triggered by smoking. So, if you are a smoker then yes, you can have an autoimmune component to COPD. Once you have an autoimmune disease, others can co-exist. However, RA does not cause COPD.
Hope this helps. Take care!
