Reiter's syndrome -attacking airway

I had surgery for scar tissue build up on my larynx a few months ago. Scar tissue from a bad intubation. I am now hoarse again and having trouble breathing. They are saying it is from my reiter's syndrome which I was diagnosed with as a young adult but have had NO flare ups in many years. How can Reiter's Syndrome have anything to do with your airway?

Yes, I have the HLA-B27 gene...
I have my doubts on the connection as well, so I will see my rheumatologist....
Thanks...

I can't imagine the two could be connected, I also have ReA ( Reactive Arthritis) which is what they call  Reiter's now.   Our disease as I'm sure you know comes on  from an infection and possessing the HLA-B27 gene in some cases.   Especially since you seem to be in a remission of it I would absolutely call a rheumatologist to get the right answer.
