Stiff feet, locked hands, red skin, pins and needles

Hello!

I've been experiencing an array of symptoms that no doctor can put together into a diagnosis, therefore, no treatment. It started about 8 months ago with some foot stiffness in the night and morning, as well as a feeling of acid when I washed face with water. About 6 months ago, I had a transient (20 minute) rash over mouth and cheeks, which started with a very itchy nose. I stopped all supplements, but it happened again periodically. A few months last, I began to have more stiffness in feet, then hands, then fingers locked (either open or closed) upon waking. After 4-5 hours, I could move fingers, but hurt to put pressure. With pressure, both hands and feet turn red. Pins and needles along with feelings of explosions in hands and feet, as well as tongue and teeth. CBC nml, ANA titer borderline (40), nucleolar pattern, mother tested neg for Sjogrens. FHx of pernicious anemia, but no improvement with B12 injection. No improvement with anti-inflammatories. Slight improvement with high dose vit A, vit D, and Monolaurin as well as squeaky clean diet. Rheumy says "post-viral sequelae" that will resolve in 6-8 weeks. It's been 3 months. Neuro says nothing she's seen with this presentation. Chiro doesn't help. Massage to fingers in morning helps speed up motion, but I'm concerned about a possible diagnosis being skipped. No skin tightening currently (though I noticed some several years ago around my mouth which resolved). Thanks for any insight. I am to go back to work next week after being away for 2 months. No diagnosis, no time off. Please help? I'm a healthy 48 year old female (save slightly low thyroid at one time, EBV, HSV, and perimenopausal) with no health insurance and my savings is running out this week. I'm desperate to find some relief. Thanks much...

Thank you for the guidance. My last trip to a new doctor last week said it was psychosomatic and prescribed antidepressants. I've found research on mycoplasm and am in touch with the ILADS and IMMED. Will keep you posted!

Both of you need to think of Infectious Mycoplasmas and/or Lyme disease.  search the web for IMMED.org and look under Autoimmune Illnesses.  This Prof/Dr is a Nobel nominee in Cellular Pathology, won numerous awards, over 600 peer reviewed and accepted papers written, 3 world renown citation classics papers.  He is THE expert.

What Dr Nicolson found, is that chronic INTRACELLULAR bacterial infections cause immune systems to become lowered.  Which in turn lets latent viruses such as HHV5, HHV6, HSV1, Cytomegalovirus, EBV, etc to become reactivated.  These bacteria damage the T4 killer cells that fight off cancer, and the macrophages that clean up minor bacterial and fungal infections and allow them to run rampant.

In my opinion, you need further testing, but by doctors that understand chronic INTRACELLULAR bacterial infections.  These dr's can be located at ILADS.org.  They are an association of doctors that treat "out of the box", they are not quacks, they know that current insurance guidelines do not allow standard doctors to cure you or really find out the true nature of your illness.  That is just my opinion.  But I was one of you, and am now better.  I would suggest finding a ILADS dr, get proper tests done, and go from there.  Good luck!  Get well!

Hello...I am sorry you have all these problems.  I have undiagnosed symptoms too.  Rashes that come and go could be an Urticarial Rash.  (I have a rash that comes and goes on my chest.  It is light purple and itches and fades.)  What color is your rash and does it itch?  These ashes are caused by an autoimmune reaction in the body, or allergies.  But since you have stiffness, especially in the mornings, it can be a sign of Rheumatoid Arthritis.  (I have severe morning stiffness in all joints, and no diagnosis.)  If your Rheumatologist says its post viral...ask him for a viral screening.  Sometimes viruses reactivate.  And sometimes your symptoms are not all related, and could be from several things.
