I don't claim to know much but a ANA positive test does not necessarily mean just one thing or anything.  But, it points the dr's in a direction to look for more answers.  I really do know how hard it is to watch your child become ill and feel so helpless.  It is an awful feeling.  The good thing is you have a direction now and that really means so much.  I wish you the very best and hope your appointment goes well and your child gets help soon.  ((hugs))

I had a slight elevation is my ana titer years ago. A Dr. said I had lupus. In fact I did not. Sometimes, for no explainable reason, a test will come back slightly elevated when nothing is wrong. Please keep Dr. appts. Hope everything goes well with your child.

Hi princessmum3
Welcome to the forum.
Do not be too concerned with the positive ANA of 1:160 titer as the
one just before 1:80 or lower is considered negative.
It represents dilutions of plasma and the numbers may appear high, but actually they just show the doubling of the dilution till there are no ANAs present. From a dilution of 1:80 it went to 1:160 in your child's test that showed no ANAs. Not significant enough to determine anything at all.
If you want to self-test something -I feel is suspect -with digestion and allergies and sensitivities, consider Dr. Coca's "Pulse Test" for indicating reactivity with anything ingested.
It is a free download and it takes a week of monitoring the patient's pulse
at various times along with recording everything ingested.
After the test , if you're unable to analyze the results yourself, you may ask someone to do it for you or you can post them here or pm me directly
and I will help you with it. Just keep a detailed account of all the information.
There are a few possibilities such as the aforementioned one, gut dysbiosis, underlying infectious condition, metabolic impairment regarding assimilation and or nutritional deficiencies-to name a few.
Please keep us posted.
Wishing your "Princess" well.
Blessings to you and your family.

Princessmum3,
You obviously have more love for your child than I can possibly
describe here. Right?
The one thing you should know is that children up to the age of 5 have
NO critical judgement!!! Whatever you say, do,and express is something that goes straight into the subconscious of young child FOREVER, without any screening or filter at all!
So all your fears are not only sensed by your girl but are also registered in her system FOREVER. (I use forever loosely, for emphasis, as with certain therapies such stored impressions in the subconscious mind can be processed and cleared)
You mentioned "mother intuition" and on the other hand you mentioned
"it scare the life out of me. !!" ( I don't mean to pick on you, you definitely  don't need this, it's just an important aspect that should not be ignored)
I know how it feels, to have a young child sick, and very few answers.
But as bad as the situation seems, it will improve. It just takes time, patience, and some faith.
Please do your girl a huge favor, not just for now, but for the rest of her life,
and find ways to deal with your worries, fears and stress effectively.
Share your concerns with family and friends, become more familiar with medical issues by asking a lot of questions, reading books, searching on the internet etc. The positive ANA is absolutely NOT a cause for concern,
at this point, and I'm sure your doctor has said the same thing.
The Serenity Prayer is a wonderful way to put things in proper perspective.
Using it daily, will help you accept the things you cannot change while
becoming open to receive guidance for the things you can change.

Medhelp has many forums where you can get more support and advice.
Please have another look at my earlier reply.
I also have an intuition that one of her favorite foods or drinks is not good for her.
Could it be milk or chocolate milk? Something she has almost every day.
The "pulse test" will show it. Or you can try an elimination diet. Just do a search. And by the way how is her elimination? Is she regular?
Was anything else significant in the past -before all this started- that took place? Please post again.
Blessings
Niko
