blue hands and blue feet

My 16 month old grandson has had a problem with very reddish blue feet and hands all his life.  When you run your finger over an area on the botttom of his foot it turns white immediately. His pediatrician has found a pulse in his feet and says it is notthing to worry about. I am very concern that this could be connected to a serious problem.  Is there any need to be concerned????

Look up Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, and see if that has info that matches.  Otherwise, Raynauds is similar.

There's a website call RSD.org.  They may have info that helps.

Does autoimmune disease run in the family?

You could look at Raynaud's syndrome.  My daughter has this.  When you press her legs, it takes quite a while for the colour to bounce back.
