can autimmune disorder cause cns/neural problems?

can cns/neuro problems be caused by autoimmune disorders? is it possible if the neuro does  not know the type of autoimmune disorder you have that that would make it difficult for him/her to diagnose the cns/neur disorder?
nero says root of cns/neuro problem is demylenating disorder. but he doesn't know which one because i don't fit totally into the square hole. has anyone else had this problem?

Yes, cns/nero problems can be caused by autoimmune disorders.

Sjogren's syndrome is one of the autoimmune disorders that can affect cns and too many things to list. Sjogren's can take a number of years to get the dx on.  It does generally come with dry eyes and dryness in your mouth but can be so much more.  I got the dx first blood test out but then I have no doubt had it for years.  Sjogren's can mimic lots of other diseases such as ms and lupus.

Generally you see a Rheumy to dx and work with but you must get one that understands that Sjogren's is not just dry eyes, mouth and maybe RA.

I'm sure there must be other autoimmune disorders that can cause the same and you might want to consider seeing a Rheumy for some testing.

In my case my Family doc. figured I might have an autoimmune problem and she ran the blood test and came up with the dx which has since been confirmed by a Rheumy.

I did run into one Rheumy who didn't know a thing about Sjogren's so maybe your Family Doc could recommend a good doc to see.

Yes, yes.  I know lupus can cause problems w/ the CNS as well as MS.  

Chronic fatigue (which I don't "think" falls in the autoimmune catagory) also causes CNS problems.
