what about lyme disease.....my muscles are sore but no weakness I moved furniture all day my body just hurts and also the joints in my hand. between the twitching I also have pain all over my body in my arm then to my thumb and then my leg and so on....
Of course, it is impossible to diagnose you over the internet. I am not a dr., but have had widespread twitching/soreness for over two years. I have had 2 brain mris, c-spine mri, t-spine mri, l-spine mri, 3 emg/ncv tests, evoked potentials, blood tests galore. all normal. been to neuros, rheumatologist, infectious disease specialist, the works. some have said anxiety, some have said they don't know, some have said be happy nothing has been found. I do know that the internet has created a lot of cyberchondriacs. There is something called BFS (benign fasciculation syndrome), which is characterized by twitching for which there is no known cause. Sometimes, it goes away with time. Absence of weakness and/or atrophy would be a good sign. To help diagnose ALS, you would need an emg/ncv. You can ask for a referral if your symptoms continue or worsen.
