i do have lab values, i have had several tests run. i am going to see a rheumatologist soon.
What sort of blood work did you have done? Do you have any lab values?
i have had thyroid symptoms, but my tests do not show anything
Elevated ANA reflects an inflammatory presence. Thyroglobulin is a protein precursor of thyroid hormones and is made by normal, benign, and thyroid cancer cells. It serves as a readout for the presence or absence of thyroid cells, esp after thyroid cancer surgery. It is usually used as a tumor marker in post op patients. Rising levels could indicate a tumor reoccurrence or progression. However, rising levels can also be seen in benign thyroid conditions. So its not a definitive test for thyroid cancer. Additional test would need to done such as a biopsy or simply examining the thyroid. Have you had thyroid problems? surgery?
