mixed connective disease and NSIP

I have had NSIP since 2001 and have been stable until early part of 2008.  Since June of 2008 my breathing has been extremely restricted.  I am on 30 mg of pred, previously 10mg for over 6 years.  Oxygen use has increased to 4-5 L, previoulsy 2-3.  In the past I have used Imuram, then my dr. put me on Cellcept, but this was hard to tolerate, that's when the prednisone was increased.  In 2008 Nov the Rhumatologist determined that I have mixed connective disease and tried th IVIG infusion for 2 months, the breathing is worse!

Does anyone a similar situation and have a theraphy that is working for end stage NSIP?

I am scheduled to see my Pulmonary doctor in March 09, and he is thinking of putting me on cytoxian and lowering the prednisone.

In the meantime I have scheduled to go back to Pittsburgh to get listed for the lung trasplant (was evaluated in 2007).
This I hope would be my last resort.
If there is something that will prolong this serious step, I am open for suggestions.

I don't think I am aware of NSIP?  What does this stand for?  Maybe, I have heard of it but not by its abbreviated name.  Anyway, would like to know more.
