sedation / autoimmune

Hello, I'm being investigated for one, possibly two autoimmune disorders. I have a colonoscopy coming up (hurrah!) and I will need to be sedated. I am wondering if anyone here knows what is the best medication to avoid reaction for sedation. I am very sensitive to meds, so looking for suggestions.

Oona, I am too.  I tell them up front how I have reacted in the past.  The first surgery I had gave me such a bad reaction that I got the recipe from the anesthiologist and told them do not use this.

The anesthesia they use for colonoscopies are different.  They are not a total sedation, it is more like an amnesia affect.  So you will probably do alright.  But be sure and tell them your experience so they could help you.
