Diagnosis

I was in ICU last July for 11 days, viral infection.  Have had off and on elevated liver and CK levels.  Last 2 tests showed normal levels.  Continue being diagnosed with bladder infections despite no symptoms.  I have severe bouts of body aches that normally last about 5-6 days.  This time it is over 2 weeks.  I went to primary care DR and he said it is autoimmune disorder but had not done tests yet. Why didn't the ER detect it?  Each time I went in, they mentioned it, but I had never been diagnosed even tho they did CBC's

Usually an autoimmune Dx is made from both signs/symptoms and lab results.  It sounds like your physician is waiting for the specific lab results to show some typical autoimmune results (such as +ANA, etc.) before committing to that Dx.  These are not the usual lab tests, so don't expect it to show up on a Chem20 panel.  Why are they are focused on bladder and not liver--there must have been something in the work up suggesting bladder infection.  What result pointed to a viral infection?  Often such bladder infections may be initially viral but secondary bacterial infections often follow.
