I have had many strange symptoms- sometimes extreme fatigue/malaise, aches all over, mild petechiae, headaches, neck pain, muscle twitches, etc. These symptoms come and go. During a particularly bad "flare" my dr. did bloodwork and found +ANA 1:320 speckled. I saw a rheumy who said nothing was wrong with me but did additional bloodwork which came back normal except for +ANA again (didn't show levels) and barely positive anti-Smith (normal was 0-.9 and I tested at 1.0) Again, he said everything looked normal and sent me home. I also saw a neurologist who did a quick exam and EMG- found nothing. I then went to another rheumatologist for a second opinion.
The second doctor did a physical exam and said I have raynaud's and ran more tests- results showed +ANA (didn't show levels), elevated anticardiolipin antibodies IgA (range <12 I was at 19) and slightly high antihistones. Smith was within normal range this time at .6. Everything else was still normal (cbc, sed rate, complements, scl-70, antiRNP, antidsDNA, etc). She said that I have APS and Raynauds. I flat out asked about lupus and she said no. I asked if she felt it could ever end up lupus and she said no. My grandfather had Raynaud's. Does it seem reasonable that I just have Raynaud's and APS and not lupus? I look at my labs and symptoms and think lupus. My doctor acts irritated when I even mention lupus. I now take daily aspirin for the APS and Norvasc for the Raynauds and slightly elevated blood pressure. In your opinion, is there any reason I should seek another opinion, or should I just trust this diagnosis?
(One more note: I sometimes have sinus tachycardia bpm around 100-105. I recently had a PSVT that lasted only 10 minutes. Went to ER and PSVT had ended and just had high bpm. Normal EKG and thyroid was 5.64 (normal high end was 5.6) Nurse Practitioner said my thyroid was high and I would need meds but the doctor disagreed and said my thyroid was normal.)
Thank you for your time!
