Need help  ASAP!!!
I had originally asked about dermatomyositis on the dermatology form if you want to read my original message there, but I am thinking I might get more help on the auto-immune sight here.I was told by my optometrist that I have an autoimmune disease due to a heliotrope eye rash I have been getting around 5-6 years now, joint, and muscle pain. The only one auto-immune disease I have been told via the internet websites such as this one is that I have Dermatomyositis. Anyhow the hospital gave me a muscle creatine phosphokinase test yesterday and it turned up normal, but they put me on Prednisone and I was taking that, but I could only take it for three days on the count I was so allergic to it. Could this have made a difference in the test or might I have something else that would make my eyelid turn purple just out of the blue??? By the way, since my last writing here, I have had three purple eyelids, severe muscle and joint pain yet. I also read that in RARE cases some peoples blood kinase test do come back normal and they do have DM. I also get a high white blood count and a low grade fever (around 100 degrees) when I get really down and out. I surely hope someone can help me and tell me what might be going on ASAP as I am feeling only worse day by day. I am still seeing a new rheumatologist next friday if the weather will cooperate.
