What type of polyneuropathy is this?

Dear Dr. Garth I was diagnosed with a mild polyneuropathy (nerve degenerative condition) but don't know what type it is. Any idea what type or what its called and is it an autoimmune condition? based on the info I'm providing.. EMG/NCS impression: there is a mild right median neuropathy at the wrist. there is a mild left median neuropathy at the wrist. There is evidence of mild left peroneal neuropathic dysfunction. Anti-GM1 IgM-positive. Anti-GM1 IgG-positive. Immuniglobulin M, Qn, Serum 260 High (norm 40-230). Immunofixation, result serum..an apparent polyclonal gammopathy IgM Kappa & Lamda typing appear increased.. Rubonucleic protein, IGG is equivocal. Gabapentin (Neurontin) is 1.4 low (norm is 4.0-6.0).
Anti GM1 Igg titer positive
Anti GM1 Igm titer positive

Any information you can provide would be helpful..what type polyneuropathy and is it an autoimmune condition? Thanks Jada235

The fact that anti-ganglioside antibodies (antibodies against membrane phosphoglycolipids) are being generated suggests that it could be an autoimmune condition.  Such antibodies can attack nerve membranes and reduce nerve membrane potential threshold (causing nerve depolarization).  For example, when these are pain neurons, this can result in increased membrane depolarization, increased nerve transmission and increased pain sensations.

As to type of diagnosis, I will leave that to diagnostic experts to comment on.
