Thanks Ladies for all your insight on this and the support i'm getting from you girls is really awsome, thanks so much...i'm feeling better about the test now....unfortunatly, now my doctor can't get me into the emerge until my next cycle.  There was no room for me on Thursday...i can't say i'm REALLY disapointed though seeing as i was a bit scared of it...lol.  So i'm hoping that we concieve this month and i won't have to do that stinking test.....LOL

Northernsunshine

I had the HSG done a few months back.  Just like BAM said, I took 800 mg advil.  It worked great.  I hardly felt a thing.  Everyone is different though.  I had my husband with me because everyone told me how awful it was going to be.  It takes no time at all, but be sure to relax - this is key!  Also, like BAM said, bring a pad.  I would bring someone with you mostly for moral support (that's a long drive to do by yourself if you are nervous).

Best of luck!

I wanted to wish you the best on your HSG.  Eventhough I have never had this done, I have had a couple other outpatient surgeries. I personally would take my mom because she is alot more comforting to have with me when I have gone through surgery. It is that maternal instinct that she has to take care of her daughter.I love my best friend but it just isn't the same. That being said,It is only my opinion and is based on the close relationship that me and my mom have.

bam1014- thank you so much for your description of the HSG...it makes me feel so much better reading what goes on and what to expect.  I will take an extra strength Advil before leaving home (I'm 45 min away from the hospital) and then I'll keep some on me for the rest of the day as I'm coming back to work after.  Would you suggest bringing a great friend or my mom along for support?  Or do you believe since it's so quick that the support really isn't needed?
I'm still nervous and i hope that the person doing the test will be gentle....lol

Rossie,  Can't wait to hear about your appt.  Good luck sweety, keep me posted.

tinkerbell101, smr08, - thank you for the support ladies, everyone is so great here!

SSBD to all!!!!

Hi ladies!  Just want to sprinkle some baby dust on this train!!!
Rossie- I can't wait to hear how your appt goes!
I have heartburn now. That is different from just the gassiness that I had before. My bb's hurt so much and are definately growing. I am so bloated that my jeans are feeling just a bit snug. I had to cut off DH from bd'ing because every time we did I would start spotting.  He is totally freaking out! I am really bummed also but, I want this baby so bad! Wow, now that I think about it, it has been a hell of a week for me.
Lori- How are you doing?  I hope that you are keeping busy ;)

Thanks bridgette, the burping was one of the symptoms that kept me hopeful, that and the temp drop that you all said may be been inplantation dip.

northernsunshine - I think the biggest thing with the HSG is to relax.  The more you tense up the more uncomfortable it could be.  My dr had me take 600mg of Advil 45mins before the procedure.  No, they don't sedate you.  But it really is super quick!

I had mine in Feb of this year.  I apologize if I get some of the terminology wrong, but this is what I remember.  First you "assume the position" that every woman is oh so fond of . . . and then they place something on your uterus.  The dr will slide a tube in through your cervix so they can inject the dye.  This may pinch a little but was like 2 secs.  The most uncomfortable part was when the dye was actually injected.  It's like really strong cramping.  It only lasts about 30 secs, so still really quick.  I mentally pictured a BFP while it was going on.  While they are injecting the dye they also take x-rays at the same time.  That is how they know what is going on.  I would recommend bringing a pad with you, as the dye (and some blood) will leak back out through the remainder of the day.  Also have some extra Advil with you.  I didn't have any with me when I went back to work and had cramping through the rest of the day.  All in all, it's really not that bad.  Dr's say that an HSG will make you more fertile for up to 3-6 months after the procedure.  Even if you're tubes are not blocked it can still clean out some cobwebs.  I wish you loads of luck!!!  I know how nervewracking it is to finally make the steps to get checked out.

Lori and Jenn - keep on chugging :)

Steph - sorry :(

Rossie - you have no idea how happy it makes me to hear you are burping and constipated :p

Debs - I don't know what the upcoming months will bring for an IUI.  I only have the inlaws to worry about for X-mas and they know how hard we are TTC, so nobody expects anything from us.  Hopefully they read between the lines and can help us out with some cash presents :)  They know we keep trying for the IUI and that things are getting in the way (funny that my MIL knows when I O! - gotta love DH's lack of descretion)

I'm sorry, but I'm not going to be able to start a new list this week.  If anybody else would like to jump in and do one, please feel free.

preciouspg - welcome aboard!!  All new members are free to just jump right in!

Welcome back northernsunshine, its good to have you back. You have a brand new cycle with new hope. As always we will be keeping everything crossed for you :) I hope all goes well with your tests this month

Bam, how are you doing with your super short cycle.. Are you still planning to get 1 IUI in this year if this month is unsucessful or are you waiting til after christmas?

Dana, Good luck if you decided to start with the clomid... do you still have to have all the blood work done if you do that? When I was percribed it I had to have 3 monitored cycles prior to taking it and then bloods only on CD21 or 7DPO.

Steph, sorry that stupid AF arrived :( Good luck with this next cycle.. :)

Mary I was so pleased to read your cysts are better - thats so wonderful, I am keeping everything crossed that you don't need the clomid this month and a miracle happens!

Lori & Jenn you are riding that train in the same carriage this month.... I am so hoping it pulls into the belly buddies station this month... that would really make my day/month!! Fingers crossed for you!

*************************** Sprinkling extra special baby dust on you all ********************************************

Hi There!

I'm wondering if I can jump on this train.  Not sure when I can be in the TWW because DH works out of town and it's a hit and miss sort of  thing.  I'm on CD13 and haven't 'O'ed yet and hoping I don't until the weekend because DH might be home by then.  SENDING BLESSINGS FULL OF BABY DUST TO ALL!!!

I woke up spotting this morning, So i'm thinking today will be CD1.  Not too upset about it thgouh.  It was cool to temp this month and see how temperature can predict your cycle.  And at least AF didn't play any nastry tricks on me.  (yay for 2 cycles in a row that were a normal length!  Last cycle 29 days-this cycle 30 days)  I think my body is getting back to normal so that's something to be happy about.

Well if I decide to go for the clomid I suppose I should temp.  Time to get out the ol' thermometer and notebook!  LOL!

I am leaning toward just going for it.  What do I have to lose?

Hang in there Mary.  I know how awful these cycles have been for you :(    ((((BIG HUGS))))

Sprinkling loads of SSBD to go all around!  I can't wait to see who has the next BFP!!

Well my Netbook isn't all that I hoped it would be, so I will be returning it tomorrow.  That means no internet for me during the day :*(  POOP!  I'll miss you gals, but this may just be the little break from MH that I need.

I don't hold out much hope for this cycle, so no stressing over my DPO, symptoms, temping, POAS'ing or anything else.  Just gonna wait for my good 'ol reliable auntie to show up as usual.

I'm CD 10- had an u/s on CD6.  The cysts are better, but it was too late to start Clomid for this cycle.  I feel like it is such a waste.

Dana-  The clomid can't hurt-so I say go for it.  They should still be able to do the bloodwork as well and maybe you'll get your BFP!

Good luck to everyone else!
