Is there anything I can do?

My hubby and I have been desperately TTC after having a missed miscarriage and d&c in March.
I have been trying to get into better health and get my body ready for the hopes of a new pregnancy but was wondering if anyone has any advise.

So far I have been continuing my prenatal vitamins, trying to loose the weight I put on, and cut out (almost all the way) caffeine. I still have one really bad habbit of smoking. I have cut back, but quitting seems almost impossible with all the stress.

If anyone gas any advise or suggestions, please let me no. THANK YOU in advance!!!!!!!!!

There are no dumb questions here Katy!!  Like Lori said the grapefruit juice helps with your CM.  I never hardly had any to speak of, but when I would drink the juice around O time I would actually get some!  I even asked my RE about it and she said that it sounded like a reasonable idea to work although there is no scientific fact behind it.  But it is healthy for you and keeps you hydrated and hydration is an important part of being able to create CM.

DH and I TTC'd for well over 3 1/2 years.  I found one of the things that kept me sane along the way was to try something new every month.  That way I could keep things different, change up the routine, and have something new to look forward too.

Also, don't forget that your DH's health is important too.  If you can get him to take a multi-vitamin (and you should be taking a prenatal) that's good.  Also, if he's a big consumer of caffiene that can negatively effect his little swimmers.

Sorry, I know that was probably a dumb question. I thought I knew a little bit but am finding out just how clueless I am.
But hey, you learn something new everyday. :)

Thank you all so much! I can not tell you how nice it is to be able to ask something and not feel like a complete idiot.

I am going to try as many of the things you guys suggested as I can. I do have one more question though. What does the grapefruit juice do?

Patience will be the hardest thing to do but with plenty of faith and prayers anythings possible.

Thank you again for all the "welcomes" and advice!! It is all more appreciated then you know!!!!!!

I think the ladies pretty much covered all the basics of a TTC'aholic =)

Dana is right, these things do take time and patience is key.  Just because it doesn't happen immediately that doesn't mean that something is wrong.  Statistics (I know, blah, right!) show it can take a perfectly healthy couple over a year to conceive.

Getting to know your cycle and timing BD around O time is always key.  If you have a thirst for knowledge, I always recommend the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler.  Nice easy read and will tell you everything you could want to know.

Welcome to our group and lots of SSBD!!!!

I pretty much did everything the ladies above said.  Also I increased my water intake.  More water= more CM which makes a better environment for the all important swimmers.  Good Luck :)

Ovulation kits are your best friend! My ovulation day was all over the place. I also drank lots of grapefruit juice, ate pineapple and took robitussin with Guaifenesin (do not use the ones with any other active ingredients, its used to loosen flegm but it also helps with cervical mucous) for about five days before ovulation on the month I concieved.

I agree with the above that Lori suggested, plus I would suggest making sure dh is healthy also, as his lifestyle can impact his swimmers as well! :)

The month I got my bfp I did try to exercise more and I was eating better..I was actually losing weight which helped me to focus on that instead of just trying to conceive...and it worked!  But a lot of it is unfortunately timing and luck :/  And patience, patience, patience, (which I dont have a lot of)  I did also have luck with the digital ovulation tests.  They were pricey but I got the BFP the month I tried them.  I was ovulating really late in my cycle and I knew it was a little late, but never knew it was THAT late...anyway...Hope this helps and best of luck to yoU!

Hi Katy! Welcome to our group! I'm sure you'll get a lot of responses on this one! I can give you some suggestions  that i've heard over the years that i've been on MH.
Do you use OPK's or temp?? I take pre-natal's along with a baby asprin , I also drink grapefruit juice(the real stuff) Heard it helps with CM. I just started temping a few days ago and the girls on here are all willing to help, thank god because i'm sooo clueless =) I know there are other things you can take or do and i'm sure someone will give you more info! Hope this helped a bit! Good luck and *~*SSBD*~*
