OPK and TMI question

Hello all, be for warned this is probably too much information, Well the first question is not too much information, I have never used and OPK and really have no idea when to start testing, the one I have is 5 tests my cycle runs anywhere from 30 to 35 days.  also that is only if I actually ovulated that month.  My husband has decided that we are going to as he says "surround the little bugger" So he has decided and I have gone along with it that we need to BD everyday.  Any ideas on how to make it more interesting?  I remember this being the worst part, where it starts to feel like a job instead of fun. :-(  I also have been unable to find preseed in Canada, well in Ontario, anyone have any ideas where I might be able to find it as I do not carry credit cards.

Sorry if it is TMI but I can't ask my friends none of them have issues they just say hey suck it up at least your getting it.

I used the OPK's from earlypregnancytests.com. You can get preseed from there too. I know, you need a credit card :/ Do you know anyone who has one? Or maybe you can get one of those one time use ones from the bank. I live in Ontario too, so I know what you mean about not being able to get things so easily without a credit card. But if you can get the OPK's from that site, it would save a whole lot of money. It took almost three weeks for me to get mine though :/ (BOO) Its too bad I don't know you in person, I have a whole pack of 25 just sitting here, waiting on someone in need. Do you live anywhere near Collingwood? I'm close to there. Oh, and the month I got pregnant, I took Robitussin (with Guaifenesin only) a couple times a day, ate pineapple and drank grapefruit juice. They all help with achieving fertile CM.
It took me two months of using them to get my BFP; the first month I did the every other day thing, the second month I did the every day thing until I got a positive OPK. I know what you mean about people not understanding. Its so frustrating when everyone just tells you, "Well at least you get to have fun trying!" Yea, right...

Some of the women with longer cycles tend to get bulk OPK's off of the internet and test morning and night, then when they think they've caught the surge they use a digi to confirm.  It all gets very pricey.  The other route to go is to check into getting a Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor.  Just google it and read up on it.

As for making it interesting (not much is TMI around here) . . . I can't help you with that one.  DH and I had been at it for so many years it just became a routine.  However, I can tell you that the swimmers do last a couple of days, so every other day should be plenty.  Plus your DH needs time to replenish so sometimes less is more.

Unfortunately, I agree that 5 tests might not be enough..especially with a longer cycle!  Mine was varying from 31 to 39 days after my m/c so I never knew what was going on.  I finally sprang for the digital smiley face OPKs since sometimes I felt the lines hard to read on the other tests.  That was the month I got the BFP...at CD24!!!  It was REALLY late and I was about to give up but I just kept testing.  Make sure you don't use first morning urine if you can help it and also try not to pee a few hours before you test.  Usualy you will get a surge between 10am and 8pm.  Some women even test twice a day to make sure to catch the surge.

As for making it interesting...hmm...lol...I hate to say that we tried SO long for our BFP that it was getting a little monotonous (at least for me...lol) but the one thing I would try to do is make sure I didn't make DH as aware of my "o" schedule and I would test and just "initiate" things without him knowing I was o'ing and then it just made it seem like I was really wanting sex..LOL!!!  I had my motives..he didn't have to know!! HAHAHA!

Good luck and please try not to be discouraged.  It took us awhile to get a BFP again and it was a long road but you will get there!!

I used OPK's for the first time last month and we ended up getting pregnant.  I had my timing all off.  I tried the everyday thing with BD and it was horrible.  Don't get me wrong...usually I really enjoy myself but it was a job.  We only BD last month about 5 times (2 times before I got a +OPK then the day I got a + and the day after my + then we skipped a day and did it one more time to be sure.) It actually worked.  I would say everyday might have been just tooo much.

I bought the OPK that had 20 test strips so I started on day 8 taking them.  Good thing I did because my positive was at about day 11.  I ovulate early and never knew it.  I would start testing after your period just until you know when you ovulate.

Good luck to you.
