Awwwwww YAY congrats on your little boy hun! I cant wait to see pics!.....So sorry to hear about your experience with the epidural!....Its scary how often they actually mess up , I have 2 friends who both experienced what you did , with the hole & the headaches , one of my friends actually couldnt even breastfeed or anything because she was so ill & spent 19 days in the hospital!.....Im glad your feeling better though & it hasnt effected you too bad , although im sure it was more painful than the delivery!....WOW $1300 for an epidural? I didnt realize in the U.S you had to paid for pain meds , thats insane!.....I love that you make labor sound not that bad! I am not at all afraid but its still nice to hear a POSITIVE experience!.......Again congrats hun!!!! :)

I've started baby dust 6 , this post is a little long & bogged down .....Cya there :)

jamie-nicole is my middle name and leigh is my mom's middle name :-)

ash-i'm so happy that all went well and mommy and baby are healthy!  thank you for the breathing advice--i hope to make it thru on breathing and my birthing ball and whenever people say "it's doable" it makes me feel some hope :-)  many people say, "it hurts like HELL and you will never be able to do without the drugs!!!"  so, your comments are much more refreshing :-)  i'm sorry about the epi- not working and the huge expense of it all!  my insurance only covers 70% so i am sure we will have quite a hefty hospital bill!  i cannot wait to see the pictures!  how has life with a newborn been?  are you getting any sleep?

Im here everyone....And Thank you everyone for the congrats!!!  Everything went well..Mason thomas  was born at 4:41pm weighing a healthy 5lbs 12ozs 19in long. He is precious and I just cant quit holding him.

Got to the hospital at 6am like scheduled, they were completely booked up from people just going into labor so was told to come back at 7, got everything hooked up and started the pitocin at 8:30am. broke my water at noon. asked for an epidural at 3:45pm. (i think i lasted quite a while without it...as long as you breath like the classes teach you, you can prolly make it all the way through). My epidural had not kicked in and i felt lots of pressure in vjj, and surprise surprise at 4:25pm i was already at 10cm. My husband had gone to get something to eat and he got a phone call just as he sat down, hadnt even paid or his food yet, to get back to the hospital. He barely made it, the dr barely made it(she came running in the room as his head was coming out to his nose, she didnt even have time to get suited up). Went from 5 cm to 10cm in like 45 min if i can remember right. And the stink of it all, 1300 dollar epidural i never even got to use, felt the whole thing..didnt really hurt that bad, just lots of pressure and stretching down there. The only down fall to everything was when they did the epidural they went in to far and punctured a hole in my spine causing me to leak spinal fluid. which in turn causes massive headaches...im talking migraine times 1000. They called it a spinal headache which is currable by doing another epidural and puting blood in there called a blood patch but that isnt guaranteed to work so i chose to wait it out for te 7-10 days for the hole to seal off and 7 days later im finally able to get out of the bed for more then 10 min. But im enjoy my little man and my daughter is so proud of her little brother. I will post some pics later tonight when i have more brain power!!

and again thank you everyone, and how is every else doing??

We have two names picked out either Angel Nicole, or Echo Leigh as in (lee) just different spelling, my husband gets to choose which one he won't decide until he sees her face then he will decide then which one she looks like LOL, but I am pretty sure he will go with Angel.

jamie-we are naming her skyler paige and calling her skye.  have you come up with definitely names yet?  i remember you were deciding between a few...

keeks-sounds like you are reading to pop!!  do they know for sure that he is a big boy?  have they done the 36 week fetal growth sonogram to see what percentile he is in?  or is that just something they do in the u.s.?  nope, didn't go on the full moon.  i think i will last at least another week.  i continue to have the cramping and BH, but nothing that makes me think "it's time!"  they are pretty regular for about 30 or 40 minutes, and then they became more sporadic.  i can only hope that they are doing more good work and getting some effacement/dialation progress!  girl, i have been really nausious as well!  i haven't thrown up, but there have been a few times i thought it may happen...i just feel short of breath and very faint.  i have a mixture of pukey/diarhea feeling, but then nothing happens.  my next appointment is friday the 22nd.  i am predicting that i have my baby on aug. 24.  do you think your doc will induce you early?  we may have our babies really close to the same time!

princesska-congrats on being plugless!!!  today is the first week anniversary of when i lost mine :-)  that is hysterical that yours was laying on the seat!!  if only the men could understand all of the gross stuff us women go thru, especially during pregnancy!!!!  maybe you will be the next one to deliver!  i am sure it will be such a great feeling to hold your little one and not be throwing up anymore!!!!

keeks - yes it is normal to experience morning sickness again towards the end. it is another big rush of hormones tha does it and mine has also come back in full force (not that it ever really went away!) even with the meds i am on that have been working i am throwing up again so i fully sympathise with you.

well ladies i officially lost my plug last night!! it was kind of gross and my poor hubby. i was busting to go to the toilet and ran in there didnt turn on any lights or anything and went then just ran back out so i didnt miss a race on the olympics. when it was time to go to bed my hubby went off to the toilet and i hear him go "what the f... is that??" i went in to find my whole plug sitting on the toilet seat!! i was in hysterics if not a bit embarassed because it is kinda gross that he had to go to the toilet to that. but it is still making me laugh now. i explained to him what it was and then he didn't sleep all night cause he thought i was going into laborr there and then! lol very funny it all was. but now i am hanging for just any other signs its here time to go. cause like you keeks i am very very over it all!!

The throwing up part, I hear that it can be normal to come back in the third trimester I don't think that, that is un heard of. I am sorry that it came back, my nausea every now and then is because of this stupid heated weather.

Oh low 20's sound like heaven compared to it being 33 right now LOL.
Yeah the inducing didn't help me to go through labor, it was after they broke the water after 5 hrs of being on that stupid needle IV thing then did I start to dilate. But hopefully they will induce you. Yes we live right by a rec center actually with a swimming pool, and my boys handling the heat they do not too bad they get cranky when it comes to bed time, I try to make sure their room is sort of cool when its bed time by putting the fan in their room. But its stupid in summer their room is the hottest and in the winter their room is the coolest room in the house. Ah well.

I was just wondering for any of you lovely ladies who've already had babies , do you ever remember throwing up near the end?.....I dont know what it is but ive had bits of nausea here & there but today is alot worse , and I ended up actually throwing up 4x this morning , and all ive had is watered down apple juice which has never bothered me before & I just feel "off" I dont feel like I have the flu or anything , just suddenly felt very sick , and now im trying to eat a peanut butter bagel to kind of give my stomach something with substance but its making me feel sick too......I just dont know wether im getting sick or if its normal to kind of having "morning sickness" in the 3rd trimester.....Thanks for the help!

Jamie ~ I think your right , most times if they expect the baby to be bigger , especially 1st's they want to do a c-section & im not very big as it is , but I dont know , I would just hope they would induce!.....I feel horrible for you & your hot weather , its cooled off here a bit , probably low 20's which is totaly bearable , I cant imagine the heat there & being pregnant....do you guys have places to swim at least? like lakes or rivers? a pool close by? How do your little ones handle that kind of heat? I can only imagine it makes them miserable too!...I hope you guys have a good day despite the heat!

Umm, sometimes I guess even laying on my back I guess it feeels like there is movement all over, she likes to stretch herself either in my low low abdominal area, or to my left side so you just see this one big lump haha its cute.
Oh yes, she was up like your little guy last night too!! I don't know why, but she was a really going. Mind you for me my  boy pregnancy symptoms, are the same as my girl pregnancy symptoms, I guess I'm just lucky I don't have to deal with all that getting really sick with being pregnant with a girl. But maybe its the heat but hte other night it was soo hot I just felt this big wave of nausea and I told my hubby I just got this big urge to throw up, ha he gets me a pale or something and says okay here you go. I never did it passed, but this heat can do some pretty weird things I think.
As for the movement between my boys and the girl they are the same activeness so I don't know. I think everyones pregnancies are different and people react differently, and maybe my girl will have just as much energy as my boys and make me want to pull some more hair out=) haha who knows.

So today is supposed to be one of hottest days EVER in Edmonton here today, it is supposed to get up to 37.6 or something degrees it could even reach 40. Man I'm thinking this is hotter weather then what California is getting now, strange really.
Well keeks I went at 38 weeks so I hope they will induce you especially if he is a big boy, then I don't know if they would want you to have a vaginal delivery if its your first. I heard if its a really big baby and your first they will recommend a c section.... I think.

Mandy ~ Sorry to hear about the diagnosis! At least they know what it is though to help treat it!....Any take of induction yet? Have they started doing internals yet to see if you are dialating or thinning on your own? Wont be long now & Aiden will be in your arms , so it will all be worth it!.....Good Luck & Keep us posted!

Katebud ~ hehe your so cute! Glad your feeling "bouncy" Enjoy the happy times cause I swear by 9 months , there arent many LOL

Krissy ~ Im suprised to see you post! I thought for sure the Full Moon would have brought little Skye into the world LOL......I was thinking one of us had to go so maybe it was you , cause it sure wasnt me :( lol......Whens your next doctors appt again?.....Anymore labor signs?.....How are you feeling?......Are you finding your contractions are getting worse?......I hope your doing okay!!

Jamie ~ I can imagine its different with just one , but do you ever find when you lay on your side or something you get movement all over even with just one baby?......I still could swear im having a girl , Krissy baby is an active little thing , your little girl is , and my little guy is still insanely active! I think its a girl sign LOL

Quick Update ~ My kid is a monkey , He was awake for over 2 hours last night going nuts  , I was TRYING to lay in bed and he was just sticking his bum out & punching , you name it , I had to wake up my Fiance just to feel how much he was moving & he was like kinda amazed , He in general moves alot , but not for such a long time period , normally he wears himself out but I guess not last night LOL.....I hope he was looking for an escape route!.....Im SOOO over being pregnant now lol.....Im miserable , I havent been sleeping still , I've been getting the worst braxton hicks & insane pressure at times that just makes me want to cry....I get like 2 charlie horses a night in my legs so I wake up & cant walk lol , my feet officaly have fat rolls they are swollen ( Jamie its just as hot here dont worry! lol).....Im just down right miserable , and next week once im 37 weeks , im doing everything I can to get him OUT! lol......I have a doctors appt tommorow so hopefully hes still working his out naturally , if not im asking to be induced at 38 weeks if they figure hes over 8lbs already , I havent asked about weight in a while , but I refuse to go through ALL this for a c-section if it can be avoided so!....I'll keep everyone updated! Have a great day!

lol the bump makes me feel huge, but then I remember with my boys I was soo much bigger so I won't complain, it just gets in the way to bend over or something. If I feel different a little bit, I mean she is quite the mover and LOVES to kick and punch, oh and stretch and whatever else lol, but with my boys if one moved so did the other so I got movement on both sides, now its just on one side or one certain area not ALL over the place. It really feels nice to not be so big this time I will enjoy it, mind you I did enjoy my boys haha.

So is it hot where every body else is? The past 2 weeks almost it has been +30-+34 and I thnk I'M going to die in this heat.

Also krissyy do you have a name for your girl I can't remember now?

Hi everyone!

So I was curious about the thing Mandy has...  :(  so here's info!

Some women experience a very severe itching in late pregnancy. The most common cause of this is cholestasis, a common liver disease that only happens in pregnancy. Cholestasis of pregnancy is a condition in which the normal flow of bile in the gallbladder is affected by the high amounts of pregnancy hormones. Cholestasis is more common in the last trimester of pregnancy when hormones are at their peak, but it usually goes away within a few days after delivery. According to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Cholestasis occurs in about 1 out of 1,000 pregnancies but is more common in Swedish and Chilean ethnic groups. Cholestasis is sometimes referred to as extrahepatic cholestasis which occurs outside the liver, intrahepatic cholestasis which occurs inside the liver, or obstetric cholestasis.

I am doing well today, very happy and bouncy feeling, which is great.  :)  I'll enjoy it while I can  ;)

Man, just posted a new belly shot and can't believe how much bigger its gotten since the last time I posted one.

LOL you girls are funny with your poop talks and pooping while giving birth, its all natural things to do, mind you I don't know if I ever want to know if I do any of those things=S that may make me embarrassed lol
So hubby felt our baby girl move for the first time today it was exciting. Mind you he felt the boys and its not the first baby. But he seems pretty excited due to the fact that its a girl, maybe cause its new and different.

Cholestasis? I am sorry Mandy I don't know what that is, I know my husband has Crohns disease but I don't think those two are similiar things. Sorry to hear that.,

Congrats ASH!!!

thank you for your description of contractions.  my mother told me the same thing--that it isn't really too bad till the end at transitional stage.  and from what i have read, that is the shortest part of the laboring experience.  thank goodness!!  the transition stage-do those feel like horrible menstrual cramps too or are they when you feel like you have to poop really bad but can't?  i have heard the same thing--that they are discrete about the poo--after all, sh*t happens, right??  hehe.  but i still hope so much that it doesn't happen for me!!!!

katebud do you mean the pre labour contractions? they dont hurt at all really. it is a bit uncomfortable but not painful as such. so prob a 1. the beginning of labour is uncomfortable too more than painful nothing too bad. it is really only when you get to transition when the baby is just about ready to be pushed out that the contractions become what you call really painful. def a 10 for me. most of the other time it is comparable to menstrual cramping i suppose. krissy if you are getting this sort of pain it sounds like you are really close! i was like that only for bout 1 or 2 days before it all happened. goodluck girl! i didn't poop with my first but i think i did with my second but when i asked the midwife she darted around the question so i dont know for sure. it was actually after the birth when i was pushing out the placenta so there was so much mess down there it wouldnt have mattered. they are all so good about it and you are thinking about so many other things you dont care anyway. i dont think people actually poo before the baby is out but not sure. it is such a normal thing it is something that you shouldnt even worry about really. you are so involved in getting past the pain and your new litle bundle that it so doesnt matter.

katebud-yay, you are entering second trimester!!  congratulations!  a huge relief, i'm sure!  the BH are rated a 0 for me.  they don't hurt, just feel weird.  the ones i have been having lately are a 1 or a 2.  they are more gastrointestinal and menstrual-like.  if only i could rate my labor contractions a 1 or 2!!!  i will spill the juice afterwards for anyone that wants the whole scoop!

keeks-the contractions are different than BH.  i'm still having those, but these others are more gastrointestinal and some are menstruallike.  i had several of the menstruallike ones last night and i was beginning to wonder if time was near...but i have been fine today.  i am hoping that some more dialating is getting done!!  are you still feeling good about going all natural?  i have a new sense of optimism and motivation about labor and delivery...i hope it doesn't wear off!  our spa director was telling me about her positive experience the other day and i was really inspired.  she used visualization...the only downside of her experience was she did poop herself!!

jamie-i just know i will at least toot during the pushing!!!  oh well, it will at least bring in some humor i suppose...

Nice, then I shall go to home depot or something and take a look, I will do their room half and half. due to they will be sharing the room one side will be boy stuff the other side will be girls. We have gone for the car theme by doing the red and blue for the boys, even their wall night lights are for cars.

Katebud- I wouldn't rate it a 1, but I don't think it is the most painful thing I have ever felt, I think its more uncomfortable then anything. Mine went straight to my legs, but I only felt 30 minutes of contractions that were a minute a apart But I think everyone reacts differently and feels differently I guess. I think it also helps on what your pain tolerance is

Stupid question, but to the ladies who have been having contractions...... on a scale of 1-10, how bad do they hurt?  (1 being pulling a band-aid off and 10 being the most painful thing ever experienced).

Today is the start of week 12!!  Only 8 weeks until I find out baby's sex!  (afaik).  ;)

And CONGRATULATIONS Ash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I hope you can rest up and join us again when you feel better!

Yep we live in an apartment , and the wall stickies are removeable , we got them at walmart , Im wishing now though that we had gone to Home Depot cause they had cuter ones!.....Once he grows outta Winnie The Pooh I REALLY wanna do Finding Nemo.....They are almost like window stickies but stick to the wall.....Super handy for apartments or places you dont want to paint....They have TONS out now , They have like Tinkerbell & Butterflies and stuff for a girl which would be a cute way to do up her nursery & they have like Cars Theme , Finding Nemo , Spiderman , you name it for boys!......They even make lightswitch plate covers in the theme too which is cute!

LOL Well, my doctor says they are usually really accurate when seeing the sex of the baby, and that they aren't wrong alot of the time. Plus if they are unsure about it then they will say the are only this many % sure, or they maye say they aren't sure, but they thought it was this. See I am starting to think its a girl and that she is right, now that I THINK about it there are little different things here and there for my pregnancy that weren't with the boys, I am very excited for having a girl.... I have 2 boys and a girl would be nice, plus the whole time my mom said it was a girl and lol I think that is funny.
Like I remember when she told me she didn't even hesitate about the fact that it is a girl, and she said she would not have said anything if she didn't see it so who knows. I'm sure we are all just being paranoid lol .

Krissyy- Oh yes I plan to do that next time, but we are pretty confindent in what she said that it is a girl though!! I mean she said she definitely saw it earlier and would tell us if we want to know.  About the pooping thing during labor, I have heard some women who have pooped, and some women who have thrown up. I personally never felt any of those for labor, and to me the whole pushing thing was different the pushing like you had to poop lol

Aww all you girls who pee and stuff that is funny!!! I am sure that is completely normal, and I mean it happens to the best of us lol
Keeks- I forgot to say your nursery is really cute, do you live in an apparatment and if so do they say its okay to put up that stuff? See we rent a town house and I didn't do anything like that for the boys room, but I am wondering if I can buy wall things that come off or something that I could stick on. Hmm I don't know lol. I had a room theme going for their room, but since we live in a 2 bedroom they all will be sharing a room for a bit, so its red and blue right now, now I have to add pink haha.

Krissy ~ It would be a suprise needless to say if you were right all along and it comes out a girl LOL.....I dont know how thrilled people would be who have bought boy gifts but sure be a story to tell LOL.....Yeah our nursery is neutral , I posted pictures the other day , once we get the dresser tommorow I will take some updated pics cause I gotta move around some stuff.....Dont worry your not the only one to obsess over everything to do with labor , I do all the time....almost every night I wonder if something is a sign LOL.....I havent had any surefire ones yet , other than just feeling "off" I guess , I dont know, Im really grumpy , I just feel incredibly annoyed at everything & I cant stop cleaning & organizing , I threw up the other night which hasnt happened in a long time ......Im sure it will happen when we least expect it too lol........Are your cramps/contractions Braxton Hicks? Or just not regular?...My Braxton Hicks have eased off quite a bit latley , I dont know if thats a good or bad thing lol

Princess ~ Okay you make me feel SO much better about the whole peeing thing LOL.....I hope you feel better soon & I cant wait for you to find out your induction date! Wont be long now!!! Its so crazy to think we'll all be holding our babies soon!!!.....I think your having a girl , but a boy would always be a nice change! Like Jamie you'll get to start shopping all over again which is a good & bad thing I suppose LOL

Jamie ~ See like you I didnt actually see for myself which worries me LOL.....I mean im sure they cant say for sure unless they are 100% but I wonder if they are ever wrong?.....Hmmm now im gonna google the accuracy of it LOL.....Be funny if I ended up with a girl and you ended up with a boy LOL
