Baby Dust 4...POUF!

Hi Everyone!  I'm so excited to start the 4th long post.  :)

Tonight I am having some light cramps on my right abdomen.  I bought a test (hopefully it will work) to take on the morning of Father's Day, the 15th!  :)

I am curious, I know I've read/heard a lot of ladies say, but all of you out there who are mommies or soon to be:  How did you tell your significant other about the pregnancy and upcoming parenthood and what was their reaction?

Thank you!
~Your Katebud~

Yea these things get so long so fast.

Your having cramps? Where are you in your cycle? Because the cycle i got my BFP i was having noticeable cramps on my right ovary and then they eventually moved inward and now they've been in my uterus ever since. Have you ovulated yet for sure? because thats what my right sided cramps were...

good luck! when are you planning on testing?

and when i found out i was pregnant i showed my husband a picture of the little bitty fetus at one month and told him thats what ours looked like. He was so happy, and i personally dont think you need a grand gesture to tell them, maybe a nice dinner or if you're too excited just run in and tell him right away. I think being pregnant with  your man's baby brings that smile not the fancy way of telling =) He'll love it no matter how you do it!

Hi there!  :)

I am on cd 21.  I am pretty sure I ovulated this time around, hopefully it's not a late ovulation or something.
Yeah, I was having a bunch of cramping sensations starting last night...I really hope it's not pms!  :P  I wanted to test tomorrow morning (the 15th), but I'm not so sure now, just because it would be so early.  I don't think it would be accurate.  So I guess I'll have to see if it's a summer solstice +++ or not...the 21st is when AF is due.
That is so neat about how you showed hubby a picture.  That's actually a great idea.
I'll just have to wait and see how I react, and then if I can contain myself to tell hubby at a 'choice' time.  :)
I have good feelings, but I guess I always do.  :P    It will be what it is.

Correction, I'm on cd 23!!!!!  :)  Does anyone think tomorrow would still be too early to test?

Thanks!

Katebud ~ Thanks for starting a new post hun! It was amazing how long they get lol.....this one is MUCH easier to load haha!............It *might* be too early to test but you never know , I say give it a try anyways just because it is Fathers Day , but dont get discouraged if it comes up negative  , just try again on the 19th or 20th......I had cramps 6 days before my AF was due , bad like AF cramps and I was convinced there was NO way I was pregnant and the next day I got my BFP!......So dont give up hope , cramps can be a good sign! lol.......As far as how I told my Fiance , It wasnt how I had planned lol.....It was New Years Day , and we had some friends over , the girl who lived with us at the time , her boyfriend , and her boyfriends friend , and they were all drinking after dinner , celebrating the New Year , and my friend was convicned I was pregnant so she bought me an HPT and after like 4 hours of them bugging me to take it , I did , more so out of spike to show them it was negative lol....cause I honestly did NOT think I was , nor did I think I would get a BFP 5 days before AF......But Anyways I went and did the test , and I stayed in the bathroom to read the results , and as soon as the second faint line came , I screamed for my friend , just to see if she saw what I did lol.....and my Fiance got there before here and he was all excited lol.....He was extatic ....It was super cute!.....It was special , but I just wish it could have been the 2 of us and maybe a little more personal , but  oh well , at least he was excited :P haha!.......Like Tianna said , it doesnt matter how you tell him , it will be special! :).......Let us know how the test goes tommorow! I hope you get a BFP!

I had really mixed feelings when in my tww just like you. I wanted to test SO bad but i hated that disappointment of BFN. I was determined to wait until 14 dpo but at around 9 dpo i started really wanting to test and i did the next day with dollar tree and bfp as you all know, and i REALLY didnt think it was early enough so who knows!

I am so excited for you and have everything crossed that you get a bfp!!! y prayers are with you this month....
as for telling my husband with my first the day i found out i went to the shops and brought a cute little pair of socks that had i love my daddy all over them. then when he got home from work i said there is a little pressie waiting for you on your pillow. he loved it and was so excited and couldn't believe it. with my second i had a 20 month old already so i got her to go up to him and say what are we going to call my new brother or sister daddy!! it was so cute. this time round i did the test and left it on his bedside table. i didnt say anything to him just waited for him to find it. he was just as happy and surprised as he was with the first and second so i dont think it matters how you tell it is always special.

Well i tested this morning, bfn.  It's ok though, I am really not too dissapointed, since I know it is rather early still.
I'll update when AF or bfp comes.  :)

Thank you!

Hi Ladies....
Katebud...I am right there with you....I am trying to hold out and test this Thursday....I am on cd23 and 10dpo...I am soooooooooo hoping.  I don't really feel like I am though.

So how is everyone else.  Did anyone get to announce on Father's day.  I think that would have been awesome.  I took a test that day knowing it is too soon, but I just couldn't help myself.

I am so nervous.  I dread another heartbreak.  I had some light cramping yesterday, then nothing else.  My bb's are not real sore or anything.  I have no symptoms.  So, I am trying not to get my hopes up.

I hope everyone had a wonderful father's day.

Jenny

So I got a BFN.  I teased DH about maybe in 4 or 5 years maybe I'd be telling him happy Father's day.  :)

I still have hope and I'm not worried about it.

How is everyone else doing?  :)

Hi Kati, Jenny, & Tianna!

I just saw your post Kati. You sound like you're in great spirits. That's the only way to be. You'll get your BFP when you least suspect it. I also just read your journal about your wacky gums. I had the same thing happen, and I am also a floss addict. If AF hasn't showed, you're not in BFN land yet missy! LOL

Jenny-Praying for you BFP!

Tianna-How are you feeling?? Morning sickness yet? All I have is fatigue, and really no appetite but have gained 5lbs already, and I'm not even eating!

Katebud ~ Awwww im sorry you didnt get your BFP for Fathers Day! But I think it was too early hun!....Dont give up hope for this month yet!.....It would have been special for Fathers Day , but it will be just as special any other day dont worry!.....Keep us updated hun!....********************** lots & lots of super sticky honey covered Baby Dust************

Gotahave & agamommy ~ Lots & Lots of Baby Dust your way too!.....I know the whole waiting game can seem like forever , but it goes by SO fast once you do get your BFP........Best Advice during the waiting game , is to do as much as you can before morning sickness , sore boobs & no tolerance for heat kicks in LOL.....I wish now I had went in a hottub everyday before getting pregnant cause I MISS IT NOW! lol....hehe.....Keep us updated ladies! **************** BABY DUST*******************

Kimmy ~ How far along are you now?.....5lbs isnt bad at all , I think thats about what I gained in the 1st trimester , somewhere between 5-8lbs , and I had a hard time eating much too , I just always felt so sick.......One thing that I was able to get down and I found helped more than just regular crackers , were baby arrowroot cookies , they taste more like honey than salt which I found I was able to enjoy & keep down!......Hopefully you'll also be able to sleep as much as your body needs.....Are you working?.....I had to go off work for the first trimester just to get enough sleep , I always felt like such a zombie or that I hadnt slept in days!......It does get better though! I slept awesome during the 2nd trimester , now though that im into the 3rd , sleeping is hard , its hard to get comfortable & stay comfortable lol.........Keep us updated & if you have ultrasound pics yet , love to see them!!!

Ive kinda been MIA since coming home from the hospital , just kinda outta it still I guess......adjusting to being home all the time , my Fiance has been getting me out though , even against the Doctors orders just because the first week being home I was going crazy just thinking about everything & he knew I needed to get my mind off it , but hes gone back to work this morning , leaving me here alone for 28 days , with no vehicle nothing......Im not too sure how this is gonna work , I already cried my eyes out saying goodbye , and im sure more tears are coming lol.....I seen my doctor again yesterday & she didnt do an internal ( only because I had 3 last week ) but she said , just same thing still , not to do anything , no lifting , no standing for long , no walking , lay down at least 3X a day for at least 2-3 hours , doesnt include sleeping!....haha.....I go for another ultrasound on the 26th to check cervical length & then go see the specalist again on the 27th for a follow-up......Even if it all looks fine , im still on bedrest until at least 36-38 weeks , at that point he can be born in our hospital and chances of needing to be in the NICU go down......anything before 34 weeks , we will be shipped out again by Air Ambulance to a hospital in Vancouver.....between 34-36 weeks , I only have to go an hour away , so my fingers are crossed for the hospital here & NO NICU!......But we'll see , at this point im just thankful nothing happened @ 26 weeks........Anyways just a little update , I'll probably be around more now , being home 24/7 and no one here to even so much as talk too LOL

Hope all you Ladies are doing well & had great weekends!.....

Okay ladies I dont know if im overreacting or if somethng bad happened last night...

I was woken up by really painful cramps, not excruciating but painful, and i am So terrified now that i had a m/c. Im 5 weeks pregnant.

I have had absolutely NO bleeding at all, and im NOT still having the cramps, but i am very worried. What could that have been other than m/c?
I really need to hear that someone has had painful cramps and had a healthy baby, i am so scared right now =(

Blank
324911_tn?1276284982
Dont panic hun! Its normal im sure , I didnt know I was pregnant until I was about 4 1/2-5 weeks , and I had painful cramps right before I got my BFP so I think it might have to do with implantation maybe? I dont know, I was concinved I got my AF so  I didnt pay much attention , however had I known I was pregnant I would probably be afraid too , but im sure its nothing , unless your bleeding/clotting & the cramps continue I wouldnt worry!......The body does weird things in the early stages of pregnancy , and its hard not to look at each one as a problem , but if your ever worried call your doctor & ask to get in early , sometimes it will help to ease your mind if you hear its okay from a doctor.....Try not to worry though!.....

I am trying to keep calm but you know how hard that is! I dont know why, maybe im overreacting, i hope so!
Blank
324911_tn?1276284982
I understand its hard Hun , but you have to try not to over-react to everything or else these 9 months are going to be complete hell on you!......Whenever I used to have a weird symptom or something i'd google it , try that , you'll get tons of responses , and almost all will say the same thing , normal or not normal , so you get an idea if your over-reacting , and I know how you feel , even at this stage in my pregnancy , cramping is still considered "normal" unless you have bleeding &/or a change in your discharge ( a dramatic change , like fluid leaking , or water breaking)......Good Luck Hun & just try to keep positive , also one thing to keep in mind too is if you stress over things your more likely to have the symptoms because your worried & obessing over it , if you just keep your mind on other stuff & focus on having a healthy pregnancy you'll be just fine!!!
Blank
491928_tn?1266181333
Thanks so much! That makes me feel way better =)

I know it'll run a lot more smooth if i stay calm but i care so much about this and I'm a worrier ALWAYS. I cant believe i'm only at 5 weeks it already feels like forever, i cant imagine how you feel by the end!

I need to have more faith, i second guess every single thing i feel, i wish i would just chill out! It makes me happy and all, but sometimes i wish i didnt find out i was pregnant until like 7-8 weeks, so id be soo relaxed right now which would be healthier for the baby too...

tfernadez - i had cramping pretty bad in my first pregnancy for the first 12 weeks. it was like bad period pain and my doc said it was all normal and just the placenta reaaly attaching itself and growing. i am sure you will be fine but if you need to put your mind to rest go see your doc. the less stress the better....
keeks i have been thinking about you lots since your little stint in hospital and was hopeful everything was going well for you. glad to hear from you and will be thinking of you this next month all on your lonesome - poor thing.
today i had my 28 week check at hospital and had the diabetes test and anti d injection. i was there for half the day!! i have been sick again and this time doc is talking about inducing me 2 weeks early which would be nice. i need some relief to this misery lol. that would mean i only have 9 weeks to go which is a bit scary but exciting all at once.
goodluck and lots of sticky baby dust to all you out there ttc. i want to hear some more positive test stories!! come on ladies!!!!!!!!!! lol

I think it sounds normal.  It has been 7 years since I went through it.  But I do remember being afraid of everything, and it is a bad feeling.  But I calmed down once I got around 3 months.  Just have faith and pray.

Keeks- how are you...I have thought about you alot.  Let me know.

God Bless and Good Luck Ladies...

I know the feeling of being freaked out, one night I went to the gym with my mom like any normal night, and I went to the bathroom afterwards and there was some pinkish color on it, that was freaky. But it went on for a few days, and then it stopped saw my doctor and everything is fine. But I heard cramping is normal due to the stretching and what not!!! Mine I had some cramping early too!!
So I hope everything is alright, I don't know if you get too worried you can always see a doctor I am sure everything is fine.

So this week I am finally on 14 weeks, and when I had my drs appointment a few weeks ago they tried to hear the heart beat it was very faint, but the doctor said that at that stage its common that its hard to hear it, but we did it was faint though. So when I go back in July he said he will definitely hear it.
And plus I get my ultra sound here next month So excited to find out what we are having.

katebud- I tested 1  week or 2 early before I was supposed to get my AF and I just had a feeling I was pregnant, so when I did the test it was negative, and I was disappointed, but not really due to it was still a little early. The day I would usually get my AF with my BC pills I tested with first response and I took 2 tests and they were both positive, so at least you got a faint positive!! I think that this is really your month girl!!

katebud-i'm so glad you have doctor's confirmation and all is well.  they didn't tell me how much she weighed at the sonogram.  i have my routine 2wk appointment tomorrow...i will see if they can tell me how big she is.

keeks-i did drink grape juice before to get her excitable but they were 35 minutes later taking me!!  she had her sugar high at my appointment time, but by the time i went in, she got herself into a "cozy" position.  she was awake, but seemed content to have her feet up over her head.  they will do the 3d/4d later here, but they told me that i would get my best pics between 28-30 weeks.

you will never believe what i just read!!  let me know if you have heard of this!  they say that tall women tend to have faster labor.  i have never heard of it before, but just googled it because i have heard 2 different doctors mention it on "a baby story."  they say women 5'8 or taller often have faster labors!  i am exactly at 5'8!  when i heard of this, i immediately thought of my 5'11 friend and her 3 hour labor.  i know it's not true in every case, but it seems to be true in many cases.  i hope i am one of those cases!!

Krissy-I never heard of that, but maybe that explains why my labor was only 4-5 hrs long, and it was very easy and painless haha no I don't know!!
I will hold out hope that this next labor will be just as easy..
YAY!! 15 weeks for me today

gee jamie your pregnancy is flying!! i remember you got you bfp and it seems like last week lol. hope it is going quick for you too!
krissy i have never heard of this but fingers crossed for you. i am a shorty and both my labours were under 3 hours - however they were induced. with the first it was only an hour but i went into shock afterwards because it was too quick so short is not always good.
62 days for me to go if they do decide to induce 2 weeks early!! YAY thats like 2 months away and i am just hanging. we did the nursery on the weekend and it is so sweet all in natural and yellow. i have taken some pics so will downlaod some for you guys to peek at soon. i must remember to do a tummy photo too cause it is huge now!! i am having trouble rolling over in bed cause there always seems to be a leg or an arm poking in some place it shouldn't be. how are all you guys going???

I went to get my blood drawn again at a medical lab yesterday, and the results are back today.  My HCG number has nearly tripled, and is now 1,204!!!  and the first time I went in, it was 5pm on Monday.  The second time was 12pm yesterday, so not even the full 48 hours.

Today, I am starting to taste a horrible metallic taste in my mouth.  I am chewing Trident gum, but it still tastes bad.
I can hardly stand the flavor of water!  :(  I have heard that lemon added to water helps, so may do this when I get home tonight.

does anyone else have/did have this metallic taste?  :)  and what did you do about it, if so?  :)
Blank

that is great news i am so happy for you. i have the constant metallic taste still and there really is nothing you can do. it goes away when you are eating but as soon as you stop it is back. i thought it was ust me cause of how sick i am so hope you dont go getting too sick. i also couldn't stand the taste of water in first 3 months. it was really bad for me cause that was the only thing i used to drink and in bucket loads pre pregnancy. i ended up drinking really week cordial until i could stand it again and now i am drinking it in bucket loads so all is good. hope you stay well and all is good for you...

Yup Kati, I had the metallic taste at first, but it's not as bad now. I drank Fusion juice to get rid of the tast.

Congrats on your great numbers as well!

Jamie ~ Cute pics! You have such a cute little bump!!.....I bet your getting excited almost into your 2nd trimester! How crazy is that! lol.....Time flies!......How are your boys doing? Potty training still going okay?.....Have you explained the baby to them yet or talked about it?.....They will be such cute big brothers!!......I cant wait for you to find out the gender! Not too much longer at all! YAY

Krissy ~ I heard that on a baby story too!.....I dont know how true it is but one can only hope!......However like Princess said , its almost better to have a decent labour because of shock & such.......Somewhere between like 5-8 hours would probably be good , thats what im hoping for LOL.......Are you getting afraid of labour yet?.....for whatever reason , im not at all concerned.....I feel like I should have some fear and I dont .....im just more afraid of a c-section than anything

Katebud ~ Im super excited for you hun!......I never got the metallic taste really , just on occasion , so im not too sure what would get rid of it.....Try googling it and see what other people say works , thats what I do for most things......It should go away though I would hope just your body adjusting to hormones.....Do you have any other symptoms so far??.....Man im so excited for you!!!

Princess ~ You didnt like water either?.....I will drink it but it tastes different now lol....It just tastes more chemically maybe? and I drink bottled Dasani water cause tap water is gross!......Your due the 9th right?......It seems so weird to think we dont have much longer left! Are your older kids getting excited??

Things with me are going okay!........I had another ultrasound today ( 5 in total so far) ....It was supposed to be just to check my cervical length I thought , but she ended up checking Rylen too & we another picture.....Hes fantastic , he was squirming about though and kept kicking off the wand thingy lol , He's still head down , and you could like see him moving his hand , opening & closing & curling his fingers , sooo cute!.....I have an appt with the specalist tommorow so we'll see what he says about the length and everything!.....So far things seem to be fine , I still have alot of pelvic pressure but im pretty sure thats normal....it starts to hurt though & the last 2 nights hes been SO active it like makes my stomach ache like ive been hit my a truck , I cant even bend over or move in the mornings it hurts so bad & I started getting braxton hicks which dont help lol.....But i'll take all of that & a million times more to keep him in for another 9 weeks at least.......I'll post ultrasound pics tommorow! :)

Hope everyone is doing well!!! Have a great weekend!

OMG i sit here and read all of your stories, and i am sooo excited for all of you.  i am not sure if i am even really trying to ttc anymore, or just doing as i said before, and going with the flow.  but it is hard to not stress and just go with it when you want it so badly.  but i am in my 2nd full cycle without IUD...and so far it doesnt look like it is gonna be any shorter, but we can always hope.  CD19 for me...so hopefully i will O soon, although according to ff i should be Oing now, just because of watery cm.  idk, anyhow i wish all of you a happy and healthy 9 months or at least the rest of your time until delivery...i am not around much anymore, but i do check in once in awhile to see how my girls are doing....hugs and luv to you all

been kinda crampy...last night was right side...felt like it was under my hipbone and today the same feeling on left side...could that be ovulation?  i checked FF and it is saying that the last 3 days were fertile days due to cm, but i dont know...cm is creamy but it's like that alot, still no ewcm.
oh well i guess i will just keep watching...lol

To tell if I was ovulating I did alot of cm google search, and checked it all the time, and I think that is why I got pregnant right a way, but I have no idea!!

katebud-i had the metalic taste...i still sometimes get a weird taste in my mouth.

keeks-i'm not afraid yet either...  my childbirth classes start in a week so many i will freak out then.  i am considering a water birth.  and i am also hoping for a 5-8 hour labor.  maybe closer to 5 hours ;-)  we are getting close girl!!  can you believe it!?!?!?  my husband is upstairs preparing our nursery walls for painting this very moment!!!  i will post pictures as soon as it's ready.  my personal deadline has been bumped to july 10th.

jamie-i can't believe it's almost time for you to learn the gender!  how exciting!!

joyce-when we were barely trying is when it happened for us...we were so caught up in moving to our new house that the baby making wasn't on our minds as much.  we were so busy that we only "baby danced" one time that cycle and hit the jackpot!!!  good luck girl!

Hey Ladies :)

Hope everyone had a great long weekend ( for us in Canada anyways....Everyone else gets theres this weekend :P )

Ugh I cant wait for my doctors appt on Thursday , I have not been able to fall asleep before 6am for the last like 4 nights because of these crazy braxton hicks contractions.....They dont hurt so much as they are incredibly uncomfortable.....I only get them at night though which is odd and its that much more uncomfy because he always seems to move when I get them lol......Krissy , Mandy , Princess , How are you guys handling BH if your getting them?.....Do you find your whole tummy tightens or just like the top?......How active have your little ones been?.....I read in my book that they are supposed to move 10X in a 10 hour period....Okay well Rylen moves like 10X in a 15 minute period LOL....So im guessing thats a good sign :P......I feel like hes just super active but I dont know......Do your beans move more at night or certain times of day?.......I hope you all are doing well :) Mandy & Princess where are you?.....Make sure to keep us posted :)

Katebud? How are you hun? Hows everything going?....did you loose the metallic taste yet??.....I hope your doing well!!....I've been thinking about you & hoping all is well :)

Jamie? How ya doing?.....How are your boys doing? still going strong with all the things you want to accomplish before the newest arrival?

Any other newly pregnant ladies wanna share how they are feeling?.....I remember how exciting yet rough the first few months were.....I loved it but it wasnt always fun lol......It does get easier though! promise!

Seems so weird to be like almost done LOL...10 weeks left now.....Thats just insane......I remember being so excited to get to 10 weeks cause it was only 3 weeks away from being outta the "danger zone" LOL.....Its bizzare to think thats ALL I have left lol.........I almost dont want it to be over , I kinda like having him all safe & squishy in there , enjoying him all to myself lol.....I want to know what he looks like though so I suppose he has to come out lol :P

Hope everyone is doing well :)

I am doing fine :)  Just waiting to see if I can be a lucky one to avoid morning sickness.  I guess it's supposed to start sometime soon-I will be 6 weeks on Friday :)
I am in my last class before I get my associates and my B.S. degrees.  That is why I haven't been on as much lately.  It is taking all of my energy and brains to do this class, go to work, and be a wifey growing a baby.  :P  I'm sure some of you ladies are buisier than that though.  :)

Also, I have a question.  My WTE website says I am 5 weeks 6 days today, but the ultrasound tech said I was a day earlier than that, and that my weeks start over on Fridays.  So if I am 5 weeks 6 days today, then is it 5 weeks and 7 days tomorrow, and then 6 weeks on Friday?   How does that work?  :P

And yes, Mandy and Princess and Jamie, where are you????  :)

glad to hear your doing well hun!.....You might be able to avoid the morning sickness , mine kicked in as soon as I got my BFP.....which was at about 5 weeks , it got worse as time went on though until about 12 weeks , and then eased off and just came back with a vengance on selected days LOL.......Are you finding that your more tired yet or is your energy still good?......Im so excited for you!!!!!!!...........As far as your weeks go, if according to the ultrasound your weeks change on Fridays , then yep you would be 6 weeks on Friday , 7 weeks the following Friday and so forth......I know according to Ultrasounds , im +  a day because of the leap year techincally making my weeks change on a sunday when its really supposed to a saturday lol.....its weird.....Have you got a pregnancy calander yet? I found mine really helpful in the beginning , as well as babycentre e-mails ......Have you signed up for them yet?

Omg, I'm soooooo sorry I havent been on in forever!!! I am so glad to hear that everyone is doing well!!!

Things have been crazy with me. In and out of the hospital with contractions that I shouldnt be having...they've given me medication to stop the shots and done the FFN test and all kinds of stuff. Aidan is good though!!

My back is KIIIIIILLING me... he kicks my left kidney or something and it sends me doubled over in pain. The Ob gave me Vicodin for pain, but I havent taken any...any thoughts on whether I should or not??

I don't know about you girls, but the whole "Autism" thing freaks me out. For some reason I can't shake the feeling that Aidan is autistic. :( Am I paranoid? I mean, the night before I found out I was pregnant I ate an entire can of tuna and ate sushi 4 times a week! Plus I've had 2 rounds of the Rho-Gham shot and I eat seafood during my pregnancy. Nothing outrageous of course, but I'm freaking out now!!

Oye oye..

Blank

Hey Hun!
Glad to hear your okay! I've been thinking about you hoping little Aiden is still in there cooking!.....Although I know at this point even if he is born at least he will be fine :)......

Oh man that ***** you've been having contractions!.....Do they know why?......Is it because of the HELLP? or something else?..........Is your cervix open? are you dialated at all?.....Which shots did they give you? The cortinzone ones? I know it actually starts with a B the name of the shot , but they call them cortizone too I think?......I think that shot hurt less than ANY other shot or blood test I got LOL......Are you on bed rest now because of the contractions or anything?

I PERSONALLY wouldnt take vicodin but thats just me , I have yet to put any drugs into my body since getting pregnant , except one Tylenol in the beginning and I felt horrible afterwards for whatever reason , so I just dont think I could......But for me im at the point where im just so glad hes still inside & doing well , that the pain is worth it.....Rylen sticks his feet in my ribs and twists , it HURTS and he sticks his butt out and stretches across my stomach  , its sooo weird feeling lol.......I think they know just which spots to kick or curl up in that HURT lol......Kinda preparing us for Breastfeeding & sleepless nights lol.....no one ever said pregnancy was all full of  fun! haha :P

Im sure you just a bit paranoid about the Autism thing , but I have heard of like a mothers intuition almost with things like that , so I mean you never really will know , it can take a few years to develop anyways , but I highly doubt anything you ate or did caused it........I eat seafood ...Hell I eat Fish & Chips like almost EVERYDAY ( halibut )...but I've eat fresh prawns ( cooked of course) & shrimp......I dont like much other seafood though & shushi is fine , so long as its not the raw seafood meat which most kinds arent anymore......and as far as the R-H shots , 1 in 4 pregnant women have to get them , 6 of my cousins did , my Aunt did , I dont know about my grandma and stuff because I dont think they had them back then anyways but none of their kids have Autism or any form of disabiltiy , so I think your reading alot into it , just try to calm down.....If your going to spend time focusing on him , do it while reading a book to your tummy , or talking to him , start getting his nursery together ( like clothes & toys and stuff) and just keep positive!......It will all be fine hun! dont worry :)

Make sure to keep in touch!

They gave me Terbultaline .. or something like that...

I've been told to "take it easy" - no official bed rest orders as of yet. I haven't touched the Vicodin- I haven't taken anything, not even a Tylenol or a Tums.

I am pretty paranoid it seems...however, you know what they say about "mothers intuition"... and I just can't seem to shake this Autism thing... it just will NOT leave my head.

Yeah I think thats the shot I got , but I thought for some reason it started with a B....It worked for me though & sounds like it worked for you! :) You dont know what caused the contractions though?

I dont know , I am paranoid about things too , that hes gonna be colicy or have something wrong.....I think because its such an unknown there is no way to tell for sure that they will come out healthy ya know?......Im sure it will all be just fine though!.....and yeah I think there is alot when it comes to mothers intuition but ya never know , if your really worried about autism in paticular , read up on it , re-search it & prepare yourself.....Jenny Mcarthy has a book written about her experience with her sons Autism which would be one to look into , and she has a good way of making light of the situation so it might make you laugh & put some of your fears at ease!

The shot I was given is Betamethasone. I had one right before I was flown to the other hospital and I should have recieved a second one 24 hours later but they didnt for whatever reason , I guess because they were doing the Fetal Fibronetcin Scan anyways.....Did you have any side effects to the shot you were given?......Apparently the Betamethasone one can cause significant weight gain if given regularly to pro-long labour.....Yikes!

katebud-i hope you can avoid the morning sickness!! fortunately, mine only lasted 11-12 weeks!

mandy-i ate sushi 4-5x a week before pregnancy and always eat lots of seafood!!  i read that mercury passes thru your system quickly so what you had before you found out is probably fine.  i try not to eat fish more than once or twice awake now that i am pregnant.  they say it's good to have some fish in your diet...just don't eat too much tuna.  i worry about autism too, but i recently read that the rates are going back down again since they are changing some of the vaccinations.

keeks-my little girl kicks 10x every 15 too!  she's a wild woman!  i have been getting LOTS of bH!  i actually started timing them tuesday morning because i really thought i was going into preterm labor!!  fortunately, they ended up being scattered.  i get them several times an hour...i've noticed an increase in the last week or two.  i will ask my doctor about it next week, but i've been told it's normal...just feels so freaky!!  as for the fetal activity, i have bene able to easily watch her schedule.  she is up every 1 1/2-2 hours.  in the evening she stays awake for longer.  the other night she was partying for 90 min straight!!  she has only woken me in the night from my sleep a few times.  i often feel her at 2am and 4am when i get up to peepee.

haha okay im glad im not the only one with an uber active baby! lol......Braxton Hicks do feel SO weird!.....Glad you werent going into labour though!.....Mine dont really hurt like a cramp , its more the just the tightening and such that gets me.....Last night though I thought something bad was happening because for over 3 hours I kept getting sharp pinching pains in my whooha , sometimes they would be so sharp and catch me off guard it was bad!.....I found out from my doctor today though its just because his head is so low......I also found out today that my cervix is alot shorter than they would like , apparently its 2.4 which I THINK is in centimeters , but when I was in the Vancouver Hospital it was 3.6 , so its shorten quite alot , leading them to think once again I wont make it to term.....Which ive already come to terms with , as long as I make it to at least 36 weeks, im fine & I know hes fine :).....Now though they have discovered I might be anemic , so I guess we'll deal with that next week lol.....If its not one thing its another :P.....

Glad to hear your doing good though Krissy! :) How are you handling still working?.....Are you getting at that uncomfy stage yet?

Ah yes its so unlike me to miss out on this site!!
Well sorry I have been a way, but June 30th was my birthday, and then July 1st (Canada Day) if your in Canada was our 3yr marriage anniversary so we went a way. Even though it rained the whole time, but yet in Edmonton it has been +30 the whole week so disappointing but that is okay.

Yes Krissyy I still think its a boy, not sure though we will see.

Keeks- My boys well I tried potty training, but I learned real fast that they are still a little young yet, so I am starting in the fall when they are 20-21 months something like that!

And almost at week 17 here soon and those flutters have started recently and seem to be getting stronger every day actually! But, unfortunately it has placed itself on my left hip side where sometimes standing it hurts my hip, or moving my left side.

Katebud- Luckily for me with my twins and this pregnancy I have avoided morning sickness!! So I hope it all goes well for you lol

keeks-so your doctors are doing internal exams?  my doctor (maybe it's different in the us) probably won't do internals till around 36 weeks.  i swore that i began to lose my mucous plug yesterday but fortunately, nothing else since so maybe i'm okay.  i should talk to my doctor about it on wed at my appt, but i am seeing the man this visit and i am afraid that he will try to do an internal!!  i really need to overcome my fear of male doctors!  i may wait to bring it up till next time and talk to the female doctor about it.  i'm so silly.  i wish i weren't so weird about male doctors!  i just know that i will end up with one for delivery!!!  i have the bad tightening too!  it feels so weird.  still working.  feeling great except for 4am leg cramps!!  you have stopped work, haven't you?

a baby story-sometimes i think it's helpful for me to watch and other times i think it really freaks me out!  oh they look like they were in so much pain!!

labor and delivery-has anyone thought about this or developed a birthing plan?  i've decided that i am going to do a water birth which means that i am going to attempt without pain relief.  i used to be very "pro epidural" but i have recently changed my mind.  i am going into it as open as possible and will take it if i really need it, but i am really excited about water birth and going all natural...we will see...  i find out monday (at my first childbirth class!!) if my hospital offers this birthing pool option.  i didn't see anything about it in my registration packet.

jamie-happy birthday and anniversary!!!!  i can't believe you are 17 weeks!  almost time to find out a boy or a girl!!!

anyone given natural birth before?-what exactly does it feel like?  the women on a baby story scream so loud as if their legs are being cut off!!  would you go natural again or was it so bad that you wouldn't?
Blank
324911_tn?1276284982
Ive had like 8 internals since the whole ordeal of being sent to another hopsital at 25 weeks......I get one at every appt , mostly to make sure my cervix stays shut & I dont dilate.....I've also had 2 internal ultrasounds.....I had never seen a doctor other than mine for a PAP before.....and even that was kinda scary , but I swear being pregnant has made me throw caution to the wind & my modesty LOL....I had a male doctor & a female doctor in Vancouver, I have a specalist here who is male & Gay ( LOVE HIM ) and I have my regular doctor lol....Plus the 2 ultrasound techs haha!....I think im just used to it now.....and you will be too dont worry hun!......Once your in that mode that its all for your baby it wont matter if its a male or female as long as they can make sure its all okay! :)............Usually though like you said you dont get internals until 36 weeks , and thats probably a good thing! :P.....what made you think that you had lost your mucous plug?....scary!.....Krissy hun , I think you should tell all your fears & concerns regardless of the doctor , its better to be safe than sorry , trust me.....and for your sanity its probably better you have the answers you need!......It really isnt bad I promise , even if it is a male doctor , I find the male doctors are more gentle anyways than Females....and man if you can find a gay one your laughing! I love the gay doctor I have cause hes more uncomfortable than me LOL

I stopped working around 16 weeks because of back/hip pain , so its worked out well! :)

A water birth would be so awesome! .....be so relaxing , and the water apparently really helps when it comes to pushing.....I've heard though that for a water birth , to wait until your at your breaking point for pain before you get in , because if you start out your labour in water , it isnt an effective pain reliever when you really need it!.....I think a natural birth is totaly 100% the way to go.....Im too afraid to get an epidural or anything , I think the only pain med I may consider is the gas.....but thats a BIG maybe and my breaking point in getting the gas would be just so over-tired and exhausted , that I would need the pick me up to push!......What does your husband think of the water birth idea? and going natural?.....I think one of the other biggest things to natural , is you need the support BIG TIME....I know for me if I wanted to give up I NEED to have someone tell me I can ya know?

Im still not afraid LOL.....I dont know , im sure its going to hurt like hell & be the most uncomfortable time ever , but its just nothing something that scares me......I wish I could have a birth plan , but we dont , and I dont even think i'll bother to make one until im past 36 weeks , if I make one and get all excited about it and plan it the way I want it to be , I think it would make it that much harder if something happens early , because they dont even give you an option for a birth plan then because its all up either stopping labour or getting the baby out.....You got a registration package at your hopsital? thats kinda cool!.....We get nothing lol , a thing on what to bring & some visting hour guidelines , but its outdated LOL.....Now because we no longer have a nursery to take the baby the husbands stay in your room or a support person of your choice to help you.....Its ridiculous but whatever!

Jamie ~ Sounds like everythings going good with you Great to hear!....Hopefully round 2 of potty training goes good :)....YAY your so close to being able to finding out the gender!.....Awww I miss those first little flutters , they were so neat :)......Its like re-living the beginning of pregnancy through you! lol

I just put up a new ultrasound picture too! Its so cute , he was blowing bubbles during it

Krissy- Thanks!! It was all stressful a little the bday and anniversary just because of driving for our trip and with the boys it was umm different.
Yes I can't believe it either, time really flew this time. Soon we will be able to find out if I am right and its another boy, or its a girl!! Man after having twin boys and them being very very energetic and since they were crawling by 6 months, and walking by 9 months I am wondering if this one will pick all those things up just as quick!!

Keeks- Yes potty training ah the joys of it!! Well I thought I would give it a try, and since they aren't ready right now its not a big deal, but in September they should be more then ready to be able to potty train and what not and I will continue to try and hope for the best!!
Oh yes those flutters, it is reliving pregnancy all over again... Since with my boys when I felt them I did not know it was twins, but I should of since I felt the flutters all over the lower part of my tummy, and for some reason it annoyed me they just felt weird!!
Now its just on my left side right by my hip and my hip today is very sore, but ah well!!
I took a look at your u/s picture very cute, don't think I saw my boys ever blowing bubbles and I went for ultra sounds every week LOL!! But I did see them kick at eachother and what not which was kinda funny, due to now they always hit, kick and push eachother oh and steal toys!!

The internal ultra sounds I will be used to when its time for me to get them, I had them every week from 24 weeks on with my boys due to my cervix shortening, and about having male doctors be the one to see everything, well when your in labor you won't give a damn as long as they get that baby out haha.
For my boys I did it with an epidural and so I did not feel nothing when it was pushing time and I had interns, bosses, and students all in there so that was weird!!

krissy - i had natural labours with both my girls and am going back for a third natural. however i am more scared this time and thinking bout epidural just cause i still remember  how painful it all is. but i really would prefer the natural so fingers crossed i dont chicken out. it is all a bit to hard to wxplain what it feels like. but my husband says i screamed like a  dying bear so i spose it was pretty bad. def the worst pain you will ever feel but nothing you can really explain. feels like you have a watermelon stuck in your butt and whohoo and the pressure of it bearing down is unbearable so the actual pushing out bit is relief from that. where as most people think the pushing out bit is the worst pain. i am sure you will be fine with all natural so go for it!!

keeks - you sound like you are in good spirits even with the shortening and BH. hope all goes well for you and baby stays in the oven for weeks yet. the BH are weird and uncomfortable but nice to know everything is going like it should be.

katebud - how are things prgressing for you? i hope the morning sickness hasnt kicked in and things are going well for you.

keeks-oh, how i wish i could find a gay male doctor!!  that would be the next best thing to my woman doctor...maybe even better because he would probably be so much fun!
as far as the waterbirths, i have heard the same thing as you...to wait till you are at least 5cm and a breaking point for pain or else it could slow things down...weirdly enough, if you wait to the right time, you can speed things up which is appealing to me!  my husband finds my birth plan a little odd.  i think he is freaked out by waterbirths and doesn't understand why i don't want to just lay on the dry table relaxed with an epidural!!  that was my original plan till i started looking into my other options...i just wish i wouldn't have waited so long to get hooked on waterbirths when i'm not 100% sure they offer it at my hospital!!  i've just grown afraid of the epi-.  i don't like the idea of the needle in my back and most of all, i don't like the idea of feeling numb from the hips down!!  i hate when i go to the dentist and i am numb, no way will i like the feeling not feeling half of my body!!!  we will see...
my hospital has a nursery, but lets you keep baby in your room.  at my 27 week appt they gave me the registration packet at my doctors office.  that way, you fill out your paperwork, insurance info, etc in advance and send it in so you don't have to do it when you are in labor which makes sense...  whichever one of us goes first, we need to get back on here ASAP to give the other all of the complete, gorry details!!!

jamie-that's funny you had a hosptial room full of students and interns for your delivery!!  it sounds like your little boys grew very quickly!!  you are right, you next little one may come out skipping and singing!!

princesska-a dying bear??  yikes!!!  but i believe it!  all of those ladies on a baby story also sound like dying bears so your husband was probably pretty accurate in his description!  i am thinking i can do it, just hoping that the labor is not too terribly long!

Krissy ~ Yeah Gay Doctors are fabulous! lol.....I was so excited that I got him as a specalist! hes HILARIOUS & so I dont know , just make doctors appt's fun and because they are so feminie they talk alot and answer all your questions :)........I know how you feel about not being 100% sure with the birthplan stuff.....it is alot to think about......All I know is I want drug-free but ya never know I guess......Epidurals just scare me in general....( not to freak you out ) but my friend got one when she had her daughter last year , and they messed it up and ended up leaking spinal fluid which went to her brain , and she was getting such bad headaches , she was throwing up , couldnt hold her head up , couldnt even move to go pee it was so bad , She spent 7 days recovering from that in hopsital when really she could have gone home 12 hours after having Serenity....So that REALLY freaked me out......and I am just not one for pain meds , I dont like the idea.....and like you Krissy im afraid the sensation of being numb from the waist down would make me sick & be way to uncomfortable!.....but women get them almost every delivery these days , so I guess there must be an upside LOL.........My girlfriend who just had a baby , told me the other day to watch REAL labour videos , NOT what they put on a babystory and OMG!....haha intense is all I can say......Im still not afraid just maybe a little more grossed out.......I dont think anyone ever told me it can take up to 4 hours or pushing JUST to deliver the head! LOL.....and it literally stretches you from end to end to get it out......Its horrible LOL........I watched a few different videos just to get an idea if it was different in a homebirth or a hospital , and NOPE they all still screamed their heads off.......A baby story totaly sugar coats it and doesnt show you what really happens at the peak of a BAD contraction or how much it must HURT to get the head out if you dont push it out in the 1st hour...OMG! lol......Im praying Rylen has a little head LOL........But I just keep thinking women do it over & over again , so the reward at the end MUST be worth it LOL..........I understand your hospital package now! Thats kinda cool.....We dont get that here , but we have blue cards that you just give and it automatically has all your info in the system and since every canadian is covered either until your own medical or some sort of goverment medical I guess thats why it doesnt matter LOL.....Our hospital here is lame , nice nurses and staff , but small & just I dont know , If I do go before 36 weeks , at least I get a nice hospital I guess.....trying to find a positive LOL

Jamie ~ Eww I dont like the idea of having more people than necessary in the room , I had a med student twice and it wasnt BAD because nothing was going on , but when it comes to delivery....NO DEAL! lol.....Theres a select few of people I want in there lol.......I can understand being in the moment & not caring but I still think I would tell people to get the hell out lol

Princess ~ See you make labour sound not so bad! I love that!.....and you did it natural.....so I figure it really isnt that bad.......What did you do to get through contractions? any special positions or walking?......How long were you in labour for each time?.....I think honestly if you can go into labour with a good mind set your fine , its those who panic , become afraid & think that they cant do it , who run into problems maybe?.......I dont know but your awesome cause your proof we can do it natural! and thats totaly something I wanna hear! That and ya lived through it to do it 2 more times so it really must not be THAT bad lol :P

The only side effect I had was shaking..I felt like a crackhead my heart was racing. Then about 15 minutes later EVERYTHING started itching like CRAZY!

I was kinda ticked off bc I later found out that the med they gave me is usually used for Asthma - I was not happy not being told the whole truth about what they put into mine and my babys body. Also, they did a UA on me - but LOST it. Their answer was, well we were gonna check this and this in your urine, but uhh we lost it so you can go home. I left only because I saw for myself that our son was fine.

I thought about having a water birth at first too... but then I started thinking about it... sitting in a big tub full of whatever comes out. Ewwww. Lol. We toured the hospital and found out that they don't even have that here anyhow...

Does anyone else pubic bone area hurt? It hurts to walk, spread my legs - everything. I stand up and I swear it feels like I'm gonna snap in half down there and my son is gonna plop right out.

As far as gaining weight goes... I feel huge. I've gained 11lbs and I'm almost 30 weeks.

Keeks- Yeah, it was very awkward you could say to have tons of people in there especially since I did not feel pain so I was aware of who was all in the room, and also the fact that they weren't standing behind me, there were standing RIGHT infront of me seeing EVERYTHING!!! I'm like oh that is wonderful.
Yes pushing baby out can TAKE along time, my cousin was in labor for 24-48 hrs of pain and trying to push and what not.
Mine was only 5 hrs with 10-15 minutes and there they both were, mind you the last 30 minutes I did feel pain, and that was before they gave me more epidural, but it was the longest 30 minutes of my life, and I am not exactly sure how to describe it either, in a way menstrual cramps can be worse then the contraction part, but that is from my point only because the contractions did not go to my tummy for me it went straight to my legs and it was different and I did not scream I just cried it was more uncomfortable then anything. Now the pushing out part and feeling pain and pressure I felt absolutely nothing like I said so I probably am not the best person to ask about natural delivery.

Princess- Oh you don't know what your having yet? is it supposed to be a surprise?

Krissyy- haha I sure hope it does not come out skipping LOL

Omg. Eeek. Now I'm all worried. I keep hearing that I'm carrying my son really REALLY low- and from what I hear I'm going to have most of my labor in my back....? Does that make sense?? I am certainly not one to turn my nose down at an epidural..I'm worried that the baby will have complications or they wont have TIME to give me the pain meds....

But from what I hear the pain stops as soon as the baby is born right? Also, how did your man handle the babies coming out? Mines a wee bit squeamish. Only seen childbirth in videos and he cant handle it. (and he's a cop!) Hahah.

mandy-11lbs!  girl, i have gained 22lbs!  and i am just starting my 32 week!!  i started out a little under weight so they want me to gain 35, which i think i may by the time it's over.  i swear 10lbs of it went to my boobs!!  have you posted any belly pics yet?  sitting in a pool of the stuff that comes out is definitely one of the less appealing aspects of using a birthing pool!!

keeks-oh my goodness!  i'm afraid to watch the real birth videos.  where did you find them?  i have grown to be mildly claustrophobic and i think not being able to be in control of the second half of my body will make me feel trapped and panicked.  but, if it's going to be as long and as painful as the ones you describe, maybe i will take the risk.  i've heard about what your friend had...i think they are called spinal headaches.  either way, labor and birth isn't going to be pleasant.  it makes me respect mothers that much more!!  i will be happy when all is said and done and i have my little baby in my arms!!

i just posted more belly pics!  my husband is finishing the second coat on the nursery this second!  after the furniture is delivered this week, i will post more pictures :-)

Princess, I have a very vulgar question....Sorry!!!!   So is the watermelon pressure feeling like needing to take a big cr*p?  I'm so sorry, I am just curious.  The part about how you described pushing as a relief sounds hard but managable (I know there are millions of women who do it w/o medicine).  Not saying I am going to, but my mother did it with 4 kids, no medicine or anything.  So I am hoping I can do that too.

the pregnancy is going well, I think I have a nice baby so far.  :)  Last night I thought for sure I was gonna ralf, but I didn't.  So hopefully it will be night sickness and not morning sickness, b/c of class and work, etc.  :P  So I can save all the sick times for when I'm with Hubby!  :D  haha.  The baby is still morphing from a tadpole to a miniature doll at this time.  I am really looking forward to the 2nd trimester and looking pregnant.  :)

Mandy ~ 11lbs is nothing lol! I dont know how much ive gained but I know its probably low 20's.....However I dont feel big or uncomfortable yet.....I think alot of me is just baby.....and at every appt they've always said my weight gain and measurements are on track so I suppose thats good :)........They didnt tell me about the shot they gave me , mind you they may have and I was just in such a weird state I didnt pay attention , all I know is I got it in the butt and it didnt hurt LOL and since my mom & Gramma works at the hospital , her friend was the nurse who had to give it to me so we had a good laugh over it......I didnt even know weight gain was a side effect , my fiance re-searched it and was the one who asked lol.....Apparently though the weight gain is only a side effect in multiple doses.........Have you had anymore issues since you were diagnosed with HELLP?......And now the early contractions?........Im suprised they havent put you on bed rest, your body must be really wanting to keep that little guy in on its own which is great :).............I dont have pressure on my pelvic bone , but I do like down there in my whoohaa....I think the pelvic bone pressure is just to due everything shifting & lossening , My doctor said anytime its a bone or muscle pressure its from your body naturally doing its thing ........I have that problem in my hips all the time & have since about 14 weeks.....the joys of pregnancy :P

Krissy ~ The birthing videos a friend sent me online , I'll try to find the link again , it had like hospital , water & home births , I only watched a few but DAMN! lol......Its not THAT bad its just not what you expect either because a baby story sugar coats it totaly! lol......Honestly yeah being in water with all the icky stuff would suck , but your not going to the difference in that state of mind & pain , and if it gets the baby out fast and with less trauma then why not , your out within minutes anyways & you dont deliver the placenta in the water.....so really all your in is the rest of your water & some blood....well you get covered in it anyways during birth LOL

Katebud ~ LOL , I love your question to Princess! I was thinking the same thing! lol.....Your lucky , We have to go through it first , so we'll be able to tell you exactly how it feels , especially if Krissy & I go natural LOL......dude I wouldnt wish for nightime sickness.....although it is a bonus that your not like puking all day , its almost worse to get NO sleep & have nausea ALL NIGHT! You dont sleep & then to go about your day just makes it worse......Pray for NO MORNING SICKNESS at all LOL.......My fingers are SOOOO crossed that your the one who doesnt get it!

Jamie ~ Sounds like you had a great labour.....5 hours with twins , lucky you! lol......Hopefully your next one goes just as fast , probably faster since its your 2nd :P........Did you rip or anything or were you completley fine after delivery?......I sometimes wish I was having twins , but then I remember the whole Fiance works away for a month at a time , and I dont think I can tag team 2 babies in our apartment alone LOL......so maybe next time.....if there even is a next time lol

katebud - i have been extremely constipated this pregnancy and it is similar to that feeling for sure  multiplied by thousands. at the start when you are fully dilated and just about ready to push you would swear you needed to go to the toilet. with my first i just kept telling the nurses over and over i just need to go to the toilet. for some reason they wouldn't let me lol.
keeks - i did tear with both of mine first one internally and externally but grazing is actually more uncomfortable than tearing. cause they sew the tear up but grazes are open so when you pee for the next week it stings like hell. i was in labour for 1 half hours with first and 3 with second. first one was bit too quick and i went into shock 2nd was nice. just rocking helped with contractions but i like mandy experienced all contractions in my back so may be different for those who feel it in tummy.
jamie - yes i have left the sex of the baby as a surprise. and i cant wait to find out in 8 weeks what it is - how exciting. i have 4 pounds so far but that is good for me seeing i lost heaps when pregnant with my others.
anyway girls it will all happen and unfold in a way you can never predict so dont try and have too much of a plan it is better to go with the flow. most people who do it naturally are fine until transition satge and then the bad pain hits so they decide to take drugs but by then it is too late and the nurses cant give you anything but gas. so stay strong and remember if it was really that bad would i be going back for a third?? lol

Keeks/Krissy

Ill post a couple soon.. My bf was supposed to take the 30 week pic yesterday but forgot. haha. So I've got my 23 week pic and a 25 week pic that I'll post on here..

The HELLP thing is going good. My last lab work was really good apparently. I'm shocked I'm not on total bed rest either. Maybe its bc I'm not working right now and I'm taking it easy anyhow. 11lbs feels like a lot to me, everyyone keeps telling me how good I look and how I'm "all baby". My stomach is getting really tight and uncomfortable though.. like my belly button is trying to pop out the other way and it huuuuuurts! Is anyone else having this? Also, when are yall having your baby showers?

Are  any of you getting anxious about the labor? I am .. maybe I worry too much. We have lamaze scheduled for Aug 2. Although I don't see how breathing is going to stop pain? lol

keeks- yah it was pretty easy labor, and no I did not rip or need stiches, kinda funny though the nurses who all came in afterwards were always asking to see my stiches and make sure they were okay, and I am like what stiches???
I know for my delivery they asked if I wanted to reach down and touch the first babies head, and I thought that seemed pretty gross I just wanted the damn thing out, and then they asked if my husband wanted to take pictures of it coming out..... umm who takes pictures of that stuff? I mean no offence or anything, but how many would really look back on it, and you wouldn't really show too many people those pictures either...I hope lol

ALL- Morning sickness I have never really had, and maybe that makes me lucky I have no idea!! With my twins and this one its been just tired, really tired!! But I am finally getting out of that tired stage, and of course the dizzy feeling every now and then.
Mind you I do get nauseated sometimes and it only last for 30-45 minutes and that is it. So that is why I think this is a boy!

Mandy- Yeah, its actually well I won't say its not that bad, I don't know!! I am the wrong person to ask about labor, lol I had the epidural because with twins its definitely recommended incase of emergency c section, but yeah like I said to princess that is amazing she had natural births, that is awesome!!

Krissyy- I heard water births are supposed to be a little less painful, but I don't really know how, mind you I think its the baby being able to slide out easier due to the water helps out, but I agree with who ever said sitting in that stuff it would be gross, when they popped my water with my boys it was worse then peeing yourself, it just kept gushing and it was all warm and it was just a weird feeling LOL

Blank
263950_tn?1221594291
Yea, that's what I'm thinking... that it would be gross to sit in a tub full of belly goo. haha. But I considered it but they squashed that idea since they don't even have the tubs. They said the state made them get rid of them- something about keeping the tubs and filters clean? Apparently that stuff gets in the filters and it's hard to sterilize or something...

I'm not taking any meds now for pain or discomfort- but I'm pretty sure at the end I'm gonna ask for the epidural. I'm hoping I won't need it, but I've had kidney stones before - several times, and if it's WORSE than that...yeah..I'll be asking for something.

And funny, I never had morning sickness either. I was nasueaus a bit. You know like I felt constantly hungover- and I threw up ONCE on Valentines day. That's it. My sister never got it either...I was worried at first, but looking back I feel lucky haha

princesska-your fast labors sound very appealing to me...except for the shock part!

mandy-my belly is feeling tight like it may burst as well....it feels like it's trying to resist getting bigger.  and my belly button hasn't popped but when i lay back a bit, it looks flat and sometimes the baby pokes it out and pulls it in.  mine hurts too!  but it's mostly the tiny whole on top of my belly button where the piercing used to be.  i haven't been nervous about labor, but i recently decided that i am freaked out by the idea of being half numb and am thinking about trying natural birth.  so, now i am very nervous!!

jamie-it does sound gross, but like keeks said, either way, that gunk is going to get all over you so maybe if it gets on me in the water it will at least be dilluted!!  ;-)

childbirth classes-we started last night!  we have 5 sessions over the next 2 1/2 wks.  i found out that i can do a waterbirth but may have to bring my own tub!  weird.
Blank

Your baby grabs your belly button? Lol. My son dances apparently. Everytime "Lolli Lolli" by Three Six Mafia comes on my son starts bouncing around like he's getting down to the music. haha. It's hilarious.

Why are they making you bring your own tub? That's weird. That's probably why they don't do it here any more- they told us it was a health issue because they can't possibly get all the gunk out of the drains and filters and what not.

And that's true about the stuff all over you I guess... I had always wanted to do a water birth... for some reason it kinda seemed like a more peaceful way of baby entering the world. Into the quiet water, ya know?

Are you just gonna buy one of those kiddie pool things? How the heck are you supposed to transport a huge tub?

Well hello everyone,
How are you all doing today?
Me, well not so good yesterday my kids all got stuffy/runny noses, plus dry scratchy coughes, are all congested etc, and so come bed time one of my boys was not a happy camper, so he was very upset eveyr time he coughed, so he was up until 5am tossing and turning in our bed, and whining, finally at 4-5am he went to his own bed and fell asleep until 8:30am well they both did sleep till that time.
Then I have had a itchy runny nose as well and a very sore throat, so I might have strep my doctor did swabs today so we will see!!
Plus my husband has Crohn's disease and he was diagnosed with it since last october and has been in pain and what not ever since so finally he got a thing back from work insurance that is going ot cover this needle he gets every month that will cost $3000 a shot... but luckily he has a good job with good coverage its going ot cover it for us. So hopefully we can all feel better soon.
On a more positive note had my prenatal check up today my second one, and last time they could not hear the heart beat and they said that was normal for I was only 13 weeks or something, but this time we heard it loud and clear and it was 136. So maybe I am having a boy??? lol

Yay Jamie!  You heard your baby's heart!

I am gearing up for another appointment tomorrow at 1pm, to see the baby's heartbeat.  I hope it's not too early.  I am only at 6 wks and 4 days today.  I am very excited for hubby to see the baby's heartbeat also.  :)

I also read that you are having morning sickness? Aww that *****, if you try those soda crackers supposedly they are supposed to help with morning sickness!
But I don't know LOL

mandy and other girls-well, no more waterbirth for me!!  i'm sad about it...i called labor and delivery at my hospital today to ask them some questions about it and they told me that they don't do waterbirths at all.  as a matter of fact, they don't even have tubs to labor in!!  i am so relaxed in water and really wanted to deliver this way.  i have decided (going to talk to my doctor about it tomorrow) that i am going to labor as long as i can in my own tub in my house and then go to the hospital when i think time is closer.  my question is, without someone to measure my dialation, how will i know when i am closer??

katebud-slices of bread helped my morning sickness.  i carried wonder bread slices in baggies in my purse and also ate them late at night (they say you often feel sick in the morning because your glucose level drops so you should eat something late at night or in mid of night).  i also sucked on preggie drops.

omg, that *****! I'm sorry!! Did they tell you why? I'm guessing it's for the same reason they won't do them here. :( How big is your tub? Do you have like, a roman size tub? Hmm, if you want to labor at home as much as you can in the tub- I'd suggest maybe getting a midwife to stay with you and check your progress until you're ready to transport to the hospital...
Blank

Did you ever think about just having a midwife and having baby at home in the bathtub? I think that would be alot less painful then dialating and then when time gets closer to get transported to hospital, because sometimes when babies want ot come out there is nothing stopping those things from just popping out LOL...
Like if they won't do water births at the hospital maybe try it at home and just deliver at home that way its more comfortable environment for you maybe lol who knows

Mandy-when are you due?

Krissy ~ Awww man! That totaly ***** they wont do water births at the hospital.....Jamie did have a good idea of having a home water birth , I think that would be wicked, and sooo much more calming than some sterile hospital , especially after spending all that time in the tub at home , it could delay your progress once you get to the hospital , because the part of labour that the water helps the most is the last active phase when pain is at its worst & also a big part of labour in water is to be able to have the baby in water.....its so natural & more at ease I think.......I think a home birth is a great idea for you if your comfortable with it , and that way your midwife is there through the transition phases of labour to help if you need it as well because going through that alone with just your husband could be kind of intense not knowing what to expect!

Jamie ~ Awww yeah sounds like a little boy heartbeat , but ya never know :P I thought all along I had a girls heartbeat and I was wrong lol.......I do think your having a boy though!......hopefully your labour is as good as it was with the twins this time!.....Thats awesome you didnt even get stitches!!!!.....Glad your hubbys medical is going to cover his shots!  Thats gotta be a BIG relief!.....Hopefully you & the kiddo's start to feel better soon!...Colds suck :P

Katebud ~ Awww I hope you get to see the heartbeat!.....I seen Rylen's at 7 weeks so im sure you'll be able too!!.....How exciting!......I bet you just cant wait! I was SO excited for my 1st ultrasound!.....Even though the pic is nothing but a little bean its still cute!!......Make sure to let us know how it goes :)

Quick Update :).....Well I ended up back in the hospital last night....I had braxton hicks since about 11pm and at 5 am they were starting to hurt a bit more and they wouldnt go away , so I figured I had better go get checked.....Went out to L&D and got hooked up to a monitor & an IV started ( fluids tend to ease or make BH stop).....My doctor came in at 8 and did another FFN which came back negative again! Thank goodness!.....So at least 1 more week of him cooking!.......My doctor checked me and my cervix was actually a bit better than it was at my appt last week which was good :)......Shes holding out for at least a mid-august baby which is fine with me :D......But I did get some kinda good news I guess , I thought I would have to be sent back to Vancouver if he is born before 34 weeks , but the hospital an hour away will take babies at 32 weeks so long as they dont need a ventilator....Chances are if hes born early even at 32 weeks , he wont need one since hes had the shot to mature his lungs , and babies that are put under stress early on tend to have a better chance of breathing on their own even as soon as 32 weeks :D.....I guess if a baby is taken via c-section early they are the ones who tend to need a ventilator because they dont have the instinct to fight like a stressed baby does.....Kinda re-assuring anyways!......I didnt have any big contractions that showed up on the monitor , just braxton hicks like I had thought!.......His head is still low but thats to be expected anyways , and ive started to loose my mucous plug little bits at a time , which I guess isnt alarming because it can reform & since they already suspect he will be born early it doesnt mean much , and you can loose your entire plug and still be weeks away from delivery so thats kinda good to know :D.......Anyways hope everyone is doing well :)

mandy-our tub is like a one person jacuzzi tub, but it doesn't have jets...just a soaking tub.  roman sized, i wish!! haha!!!  that is a good idea about a midwife to sit with me/check my progress till the hospital.  how does that work?  do you pay them or do they accept insurance?  they didn't tell me why no waterbirths...but i am guessing it has something to do with what your hospital said.

jamie-i just don't think i want to deliver at home.  for some reason, i think it would freak me out.  i kind of like the hospital atmosphere and would probably feel safer there for the delivery.  although, i am worried about waiting too long and not knowing when is a good time to head in...  since this is my first baby, i don't know if i am going to be a quick one (i can only hope and pray!!!) or if i will labor for hours and hours...

keeks-i just don't know if i want to deliver at home.  what a mess!!  and what if something went wrong?  plus, like i said, i kind of like the atmosphere of hospitals and feel safer there.  i am definitely concerned about things slowing if i get in the tub before 5cm.  they say it can be counteractive and it's most productive later in labor after 5cm.  i really don't know what i will end up doing.  i love having everything planned out and hate not knowing!!  i'm glad that little boy is holding out for you!!  mid august?  yay, then you may beat me and can give me all of the details!!!  i have predicted that i will have baby skye on august 25 at 2:40pm.  my goal is a 5-6 hour labor (a girl can hope!!).  i am still continuing to prove the theory on tall women having fast labors so there is hope!  every tall woman i have met had a labor under 7 hours.  my mom's friend (5'9) had her first in 5.5 hours and her second in 50 minutes!  yikes!!

Krissy-

I'm not really sure how it works, but I'm positive you could get a midwife to stay with you until you'd progressed to a certain point in your labor at home. I agree with you on the whole being more comfortable at a hospital thing... Only because things can change quickly and I'd feel 100% better knowing that emergency medical equipment was standing by. And in the very, very slim chance that maybe your labor doesn't progress as well as they'd hope they can have the baby out safely very quickly in a hospital.

I'm not sure how the midwife thing works, I would just 'google' midwives in your area- and make some calls...find out. I'm pretty sure they'd take insurance. Another option would be to maybe call the hospital and ask to speak to someone about something like that- I dont know if that could also fall under the responsbility of a doula. But as far as midwives go- I hear that some of them are pretty old fashioned and can be pushy and try and make you feel guilty for wanting to deliver in a hospital- or for wanting pain meds...so keep that in mind! Don't let them change your mind if it's not what you want.

Jamie- I am due as early as Sep 10 - but we're calling it the 14th. I cant seem to get that date out of my head...

I understand!! I don't feel comfortable doing it at home either, but I don't know if I would want to sit in a bathtub until its time to go in and then go in, but that is me.

keeks- yah my boys heart beats were like that so I am assuming its a boy!! But who knows, I don't know I guess will just have to wait until august!!
Labor I am trying not to think about it, because I was freaked out about it before with my boys through out the whole pregnancy so I don't really want to do it this time LOL.
Yeah the stiches I think I was lucky, I heard some women can rip from hole to hole, as nasty as that sounds, but that creeped me out too!!
Yeah I just want him to get out of feeling in pain all the time and it can get soo bad where he can barely move, but hopefully this stuff will help out now!! I sure hope so its a $3000 shot haha.

Aww you had to go in to the hospital again? how far along are you?

Hi Ladies,

Keeks, are you ok?  What size is baby sitting at right now?  I hope everything goes in your and baby's favor.

Krissyy, do they have a shower you can use in your room at the hospital?  I know its definetly not the same, but the water from a shower can be soothing also, especially if there is a chair to sit on or a ledge.

Update:  I had another ultrasound appointment today.  I am so amazed at how much my baby has grown in only 9 days!!!!!!!   At the last appointment we could only see the yolk sac.  Today, I saw my little beanie and the heart beating!  The heartbeat was 120 bpm, and my baby was 7mm long.  So tiny!  :)  Hubby and I are very happy.  :)  I will put the picture up as soon as I get it scanned.  (not really much to see yet, but it's my baby!).
The ultrasound tech said the baby was measuring at 6 weeks and 4 days (that is a day behind where I'm at now for official gestation dates).  Maybe I need to sleep more so baby can grow faster!  :)  I know for sure I don't need to eat more yet!

I have been eating crackers in the morning, and I've started to associate them with feeling sick, same thing with tums and antacids.  :(  But I've discovered natures' perfect food:  Pb&j.   :D  good for breakfast and lunches on the go!!!!   Haha.  I eat them on wheat bread, so I don't feel as bad about it.  Also, it's a good replacement for cake and donuts, other sweet stuff.  :)

Krissy ~  I can understand your reasons for not wanting a homebirth for sure!......I dont know why I have no fear in all of this , I actually would prefer the idea of a homebirth if I was allowed & had the proper space & bathtub to do it......I guess I just dont think of what can go wrong lol.....As far as midwifes go , I know our medical covers them should you choose one , but in america I would assume you pay a percentage or something.....You could even just look it up in your phonebook , and you can call around & find one your comfortable with I know that , You get like a 1 hour consultation before you have to choose.....I know here anyways cause my girlfriend choose a midwife and shes GREAT!.....her appt's are always an hour long and you can ask any & all questions.......I wish I could go with a midwife , its such a more personal experience!.......Katebud was right though , you could always use the shower if theres one in your room , the water pressure can help to relieve contractions and alot of them have like a ledge you can sit on or your hubby can climb in too and help by massaging or helping you to get into a comfortable position while you use the showerhead for water pressure........Im sure you'll figure it out hun! I know the feeling of having no control though especially in a situation that requires so much of it........It will all fall into place dont worry!......haha yeah who knows I could go before you!

Katebud ~ Im soooo excited you got to see your babys heartbeat! Just wait until you hear it! Its even cuter & more special!........You desereve this so much hun & im so happy for you! :)......I know what you mean about saltine crackers , I could never do it , I HATED the salt for starters & they always made me feel worse because they remind me of what you eat with soup when your sick lol......Arrowroot baby cookies worked for me or animal crackers , they taste sweet like honey so they didnt make me as sick and I liked that they broke down easily......They helped me alot in the first few weeks.....HAHA PB & J I lived off for like a month in the 1st few weeks , on ANYTHING , especially sandwiches & english muffins lol......It was the best , and even now I still love it I just dont eat it as much , alot of carbs lol......Now my favourtie morning thing is a smores granola bar.....I go through a box or two a week , I loooovee them! lol.....You should try preggie pops or drops like Krissy said , they work wonders too!

Jamie ~ Yeah $3000 a shot is pretty pricey! Thank goodness they are covering it!....Hopefully they will help to make him feel better right away!.....I had a friend who Chrons disease and I know what its like......Is there any risk of the boys or this baby getting it? ......Are your kiddo's feeling better yet? How about you & your sore throat?.........August isnt too much longer away , it will go by fast!.......Im excited to know what your having , Usually when all signs point to a boy its a girl though LOL

Katebud , Im fine hun  :) thanks for asking!.....They didnt actually tell me what size hes measuring at , but at my last appt I was right on track measurement wise , and they were never concerned about him oddly enough , everytime im on a monitor he shows off & moves like crazy lol.....and he always hides from the heartbeat monitor , even the doppler , I can feel him slide over so hes like right under my bellybutton LOL ,its hilarious , The nurses always laugh......and so long as my cervix stays closed things are good , but even if he does come early , im not worried , I would prefer to have him stay in until at least 37 weeks or more , but whatever happens , happens , He will be fine!......at least now that they know whats going on its alot easier to monitor , and im a bit of a spazz and dont always know what im supposed to feel , especially at this point , but they are really nice & good about all my questions and stuff......I think the worst part of this hospital visit was not having my Fiance here , hes away at work until Tuesday , and I know it freaked him out not knowing nor being here & I felt even worse cause it was his birthday .....not quite how I wanted him to spend it , but oh well , its all fine so thats great :)

Umm I think there is a risk of say 30% or something it could be higher, but at least one of our kids may get it!!
I could not have crohns I would go crazy, not being able to eat fruits, and veggies!! Man its hard cooking for someone who has a disease that affects what they can and cannot eat! His dad is allergic to flour so I am glad he does not have that problem.
My kids, well one boy he always does really good when he is sick, he does not get fevers and if he does he still tries to be happy as a clown, and he has had 3-4 ear infections since he was born and all times you would not have known, but my other one the world ends for him when he gets sick, he is the biggest baby really LOL, everytime he coughs he cries, he sneezes and boogers come out he cries, then the other one rubs the boogers all over his face and then I have to constantly wipe his face off becuase I don't want dirty kids and he hates getting his face wiped.
Me, well no I just got worse today, but I did manage to clean my carpets with my carpet cleaner, but that is as far as my house work went oh and laundry LOL.
Yeah August isn't that far a way, but it seems like its taking forever and I can't believe that I'M 17 weeks I mean 10-11 weeks ago I was worried about miscarrying due to spotting at 6-7 weeks, and now i'm at 17. Well, with my boys at 19 weeks I found out it was twins, but before I knew the gender and how many I always thought it was a boy, mind you I think its because I always wanted a boy first, but who knows....
This time around I just think its a boy, but its driving me crazy really LOL.

Yeah Crohns is hard , I remember my friend couldnt eat much of anything , I dont know how her mom did it , she had like 4 siblings and they had foster kids and stuff , must have been hard to always make her a seperate meal!.....I used to babysit a little girl that had celiac (sp) disease , she was allergic to gluten & flours and stuff , it was horrible.....They do make alot of stuff without gluten but try explaining to a 7 year old why she cant have what her little brother does ya know? I always felt so bad for her!......** fingers crossed** none of your little ones end up with the Crohns too!!......I know I cant believe your 17 weeks either!......It goes by so fast!......Even now , its like okay techincally I have 9 weeks left until im due....I remember counting down the first 9 weeks LOL......Its just insane......I really dont know how people can complain about being pregnant , like yeah alot of parts arent pleasant , but it goes by SO fast......Im really gonna miss being pregnant :(.........My girlfriend is 16 weeks & found out she might be having twins LOL.....She goes for an ultrasound to confirm in 2 weeks!.....I cant wait to find out if she is!

I really think at some point we need to organize a meet up somewhere when our babies are a bit older? Like maybe next summer?.....Mandys right , its like we've all been through this together , it would be neat to see eachother & have all the babies meet!

I registered for my pre-natal classes finally LOL.....I kept forgetting!......They got me into an early class just in case anything happens early , so were hoping to make it past Aug 19th since thats my last class lol :P..........I have a breastfeeding one on the 21st and then Aug 6th is a newborn class and then 29-19th every Tuesday is the pre-natal and L&D class!......Im really not overly excited , but it should be fun , I just know im gonna be probably one of the youngest ones there though and thats always weird......I dont know why , I know I have nothing to prove but its just odd thinking that they are looking down on you cause they are like in their 30's.....Meh oh well! It should be fun!

Have you registered yet Mandy?....Princess are you going to do them even though you've already had kids?......Krissy you'll have to let me know how your first class since its before mine! :)
