Clean Air Diaper Pail from First Years?

Clean Air Diaper Pail from First Years?

Hello!

I know most people on here have complained about the Diaper Champ / Genie, including myself, but I was wondering if anyone has heard of the Safety First Clean Air Diaper Disposable System?  The reviews are mixed, but a friend of mine has it and says it is really good. It has a filter and you can use regulr trash bags in it.

Thoughts on this one?  I don't really want a diaper pail at all, but I can't imagine just walking all the diapers out to the garage and sticking it in a plastic garbage can with a lid.  That's going to REEK and attract flies until the garbage man comes.  I was thinking one of those diaper pails are at least somewhat contained, and work until solid food comes into play.

Thoughts?

Well, I live in an apartment...so I can't walk mine to the garage and the dumpster is not anywhere near us! We tried the Diaper Champ and used bags inside it then wrapped each diaper in a WalMart bag. Still stunk up the entire room. Ended up throwing out the entire Diaper Champ b/c the smell would NOT let up.

So if there is something different out there that does work I want to know!!

I registered for the diaper dekor.  I have no idea how good it will work but in the Baby Bargains book it got an A.

I heard the Diaper Dekor was really good too... my only issue with it is that the refill bags are really expensive.  I they cost about $12 for a 2 pack, and they hold a total of 46 diapers or something.   I'm wondering if I wouldn't want to empty prior to having 46 stinky diapers in there?!

The only reason the clean air diaper pail seemed like a good option is that it had a filter on it that runs constantly, which seems like it might help, and it takes regular garbage bags.  I suspect once baby gets to eating solids, diapers are going to stink no matter where you put them!

Ok..I'm totally dreaming here...wish our kids were born potty trained! LOL I know..doesn't work that way.

I've found that just throwing them in the trash can and emptying it daily worked best for us. I put them in a WalMart bag tied up. Those don't cost extra. LOL

Hopefully my little boy will potty train early!

I tried the Clean Air Diaper Pail from First Years...the only drawback I had was that it was very top heavy, so that when I went to change out the bags, it was a 2-handed job.  If I tried to do it while holding my daugther, I ended up with the top falling off and landing on the floor.  I stuck with the diaper champ and just used small bags and emptied it daily.  That being said, this was about 9 months ago, so if they have changed the design so that the top is more securely attached, then it might be OK....
