bumbo chair...

bumbo chair...

i just had to come by and rave about a product i bought yesterday.its called a bumbo chair.my son is just bout 8 weeks old and loves very much to be sitting up at all times but obviously is too young to do it on his own.because i cant constantly be holding him i searched all over for something to hold him.everything i saw was for children who could already hold themselves up..until...the bumbo chair...im so excited bout this...its made for babies who can hold their heads up steadily but not sit up alone.and it works great and he absolutely loves it!!!!

It is pretty awesome, but stay very close to your youngun and don't set that chair on any raised surfaces.  My 5 month old can twist right out of that thing if he really wants to and could easily tip it over and crack his head!

I have had the same experiance with those seats, it doesn't take long at all for them to be able to get out of them- the children I've seen, all they have to do is straighten out their body and roll and out they go.  I have to say, it's not my favorite piece of baby equipment........

well io would never put it on a raised surface or leave him unattended.i know it wont lqst long and at the rate hes going hell be sitting by himself by 5 months but for right now its a life saver.my boy is a pudgy lil one too but he still fits right in there with no problem.

I LOVE mine!!!  My five month old twins love it!!  I only have one.  I have been looking at consignment sales lately for another one.  I think it is what has really helped my kids hold their heads up and sit up better.

It is not good for babies with chunky thighs. My son hated it as it was too tight.

i work with babys and i hate them! there so bad for them!!! children who have them have poor back strenth and cant support them selfs! it delays walking crawling sitting by themselfs! you are better of putting them into a rocker or when they are at an age to learn to sit pad around them with pillows so if they fall they dont hurt themselfs!! alst of children will have poor posture and back problems in later life!
my advice is throw them out!!!!

angelbabies---They have only been on the market for a couple of years so I am curious as to where you have gotten your information about poor posture and back problems later in life?  I will search around the internet and see what's out there......

well the babys at work who hve had them and sat in them daliy have had trouble sitting on there own where late to walk as the bumbo seat supports them so they dont need to support themselfs therefor they do not need to gain the strenth in there backs as the seat will do it for them! its been a nightmeare trying to help then to sit unaided as a baby who is 12 mounths old has only just learnt to sit! at collage they where talking about the effects of them i just personaly think there a bad invention but each to there own

i agree, this chair is awesome! it helped my son learn to sit on his own a lot quicker! though everyone is right, you need to keep it on the floor... he very quickly learned to squirm around ,etc and almost came out of the seat a few times. he loved when we used the tray on it too! unfortinitely, his little thighs got too chubby and we had to stop using the seat! also, his boppy was a life saver when he was younger!
