Kyphosis

I am 27 years old.  I have had upper back pain for about six years now.  I was told by many doctors that I had scoliosis.  However, earlier this week, I was sent for x rays by my new doctor and she told me that I had a kyphosis of 75 degrees.  I also have spinal arthritis and have been receiving epidural steroid injections once a month.  She also told me that my vertabrae have three times the space that should be between them, and that my spine was rotating in my neck and that my head did not sit straight on my body.  My question is what can be done to correct this or keep me from being in so much pain?  I am currently on oxymorphone for pain and it does help, but I do not want to have to take pain killers for the rest of my life to be able to just do the daily things that being a mom and wife require.

Progressive degenerative kyphosis can cause not only pain but nerve damage.
You should consult with a neurosurgeon and you may have to consider surgical correction and stabilization.

Six years ago was when the back pain started, i did not suffer any physical trauma to my back.  I had woke up one morning and my back was really hurting, I just thought maybe I had slept wrong or pulled something picking up my daughter who was a year old at the time.  The arthritis is in my neck, shoulders, upper and middle back.  Fortunately, it has not spread down to my lower back yet.  My pain doctor did an EMG and that was when he diagnosed the arthritis.  My chiropractor ordered the x rays and she pointed everything out and explained it to me.  Me next appointment is next week.
