Should I get another opinion???

by maylan, Jan 26, 2009 11:01AM
I had a repeat MRI last week. This is what the report says:

L4-L5 reveals a small, central disc protrusion as well as mild ligamentous hypertrophy and diffuse annular disc bulge which causes compression of both the foramina and spinal canal.
L5-S1 has a small to moderate sized disc protrusion. There is mild ligamentous hypertrophy bilateral which does cause mild foraminal stenosis.

I have been diagnosed with DDD. I have constant low back pain, sciatica and trouble with tripping all the time. But what does this all mean in plain english?? How bad is this? My current doctor says no surgery I am too young (35 years old). But should I get a second opinion???
