Strange twitching

by FoozMike, Feb 16, 2008 08:48PM
I am 25 male and for the last 4 years i have had this strange twitching in my upper back /neck area. it is almost the feeling as if i needed to crack my neck and i do a fast twitch to relieve the pain. Sometimes i would twitch to make the pain (which is very mild but annoying) go away and it would take a few times for it to be corrected. I do this tons of times through out the day. After twitching so much my lower head seems to get tired (tightness) from doing this so much. I went to a neuro and he did an MRI and i was hoping you could tell me if this might be related.

1. Partial Straightening of the mid cervical lordosis suggesting strain
2. c3-4 very small right paramidline disc protrusion
3. c4-5 minimal right paracentral disc protrusion
4. c5-6 shallow central subligamentous disc protrusion
5. c6-7 shallow concentric disc bulge
6. t2-3 tiny right paramidline disc protrusion
7. t5-6 minimal right paracentral disc protrusion.

I was told by the neuro that its not bad and he doesnt think my twitching is from this and basicaly cant do anything and to not lift heavy objects yadadda. I am at a point where i know i shouldnt feel like this. Should i see a chiropractor?

It is certainly possible that your twitching is neuro-muscular and related to your cervical spine degenerative disc disease.
I would recommend that you see a physiotherapist for treatment including posture correction and stretching.
