Werid lumb behind my ear

by Lilleh, Jan 16, 2009 02:51PM
I've had this weirid lumb just behind my right ear for quite sometime now, and it's getting to be a consern for me. It feels hard and it becomes sensitive and painful if I touch it too much. I've actually been poking at it for about a little bit now and now I have a headache.

Should I go to my doctor about this? Perosonally though I think she would just brush me off without some kind of idea of what it is first even if it is something serious so whatever information I can get will help.

If it helps to know, I'm a 20 year old female.

It could be a lymph node. You have lymph nodes behind both ears. If you have allergy problems or get sinus problems, or anything like an upper respiratory illness those nodes, or just one, can swell up and become really tender. I have the same thing. I have bad allergy flare ups and it feels like a knot behind my ear. If you mess with it then it becomes more tender.
