MRI Results

I was wanting to know what my husbands results mean. Here are the findings. There is some mild multilevel facet arthropathy with prominernce of the ligamentum flavum. There is disc desiccation at the L3/4, L4/5, and L5 /S1 level. There are a few levels of endplate osteophyte formation. At the L3/4 there is mild disc bulge without significant central spinal canal stenosis. There is mild bilateral neuroformainal narrowing. At the L4/5 level there is mild disc bulge causing ninimal effacement of the ventral thecal sac. Within the left posterolateral margin of the disc there is a small area of increased T2 signal campatible with annular tear. There is questioned superimposed disc herniation at the left central and forminal zone with some narrowing of the left lateral recess. There is close proximity if not contact of the left L4 nerve root. Correlate with radiculopathy. There is mild right neuroforaminal narrowing and mild to moderate left neural foraminal narrowing. At the L5/S1 level there is a disc herniation primarily within the left central zone which contacts the left S1 nerve root causing some mild posterior displacement. This is also in close proximity to the right S1 nerve.  How serious are these findings in layman terms......
