14 vertebrae back fusion fused April 2012 much worse now than I ever was TLSO brace

I am 62 years young, had surgery April 2012 with 14 vertebrae fused with the TLSO brace. I am much worse now than before the surgery, right leg partially paralyzed, two toes on right leg paralyzed, arms don't work like they did before and I drop stuff all the time, lots of pain in my legs and back, lots of numbness in other parts. Totally wish I never had it done, the surgeon said :oh you have fibromyalgia now, no I do not but tries to blame it on someone else and not his surgery. While in rehab I caught a virus and lost 35 pounds vomiting, he did not even once check on me while I was in rehab for 28 days to see how I was doing. Wish I never had this done, I am much worse now than before and in much more pain.

I have tried everything and tens unit too, I am just as good as I ever will be, how many did you have fused? First it was 8 and then they said no 14, I was never told how hard it would be. I tell everyone never to get anything done to your back. I almost committed suicide it was that depressing but my family got me through it.

I am sorry to hear the fusion didn't help you either. My doctor wouldn't admit I still have pain because the fusion didn't relieve it while all the other doctors I've seen say my pain is from the failed fusion. My one leg also feels numb and I am not as coordinated as I was before the surgeries. Have you tried anything besides physical therapy? Acupuncture? Warm moist heating pad? Modified yoga? Pain management? Another opinion? I know once a fusion is done we are very limited in what can be done for is. It's too bad some doctors are not honest about the chances of recovery after this surgery. My doctor pushed me into it and I'm really sorry I had it done too. I lost my job because of it and can no longer work. I hope you can find something to help with the pain.
