19 years after a C3 Fusion

Hi, I am a 25 year old female. 19 years ago I was hit by a car and had to have a fusion, among other things. Since I was so little I do not know all the details, but I had a bone from my left hip, taken right above the buttock, placed in my neck and wired together, I always heard it called a fusion. In any case, for the last couple of years I get episodes of extreme pain in my neck and shoulder area, all the way down between my shoulder blades. I've been having decreased movement over the years, up and down and side to side, but when these episodes happen I have absolutely no range of motion at all, if I try to turn or move my head in any direction, I get searing pain up and down my spine, in my neck and shoulders. The pain is so bad I can't sleep, or even sit up straight, when I sit, the weight of my arms hanging from my shoulders feels like my neck will snap back and break. I don't know if this is or could be related to the fusion, or if it's something else. In either case, I don't have medical insurance and I will wait til I'm practically dying before I go to the ER. (Because I always get a $2000 bill afterward). I've tried taking anti-inflammatory, decongestants, I've tried hot compresses, ice packs, massage, hot baths, nothing relieves the pain but time. Most of the time it can take 2-3 weeks for the pain to subside, but I have two children and that time frame is just unrealistic for my life style. If anybody can help I would much appreciate it.
