I have been dealing with all these medical issues for the past 1 1/2 yrs. I have found out the following: Most of the time you have to push or investigate any pain you may have. I searched for docs I thought could help. Fortunately, I found some really great doctors. Pain Management docs are a whole different breed. In my opinion, they treat you like an addict, even if you aren't one. And second, they love to give injections and they do pressurePressure ulcer to try the spinal stimulator. (I have since found out that the pain mgmt doc I saw is being frowned upon by doctors recently)
I have already had spinal fusion at L/5 - S/1, in November 2008. Now I am now experiencing the pain of a truly ruptured disk. My doc has me coming back in two weeks (1 down 1 to go) after taking pain meds, prednisonePrednisone Prednisone anhydrous and upping my Neurontin to 1800 mgs a day. I have tried to tell my friends and familyBirth control and family planning Choosing a primary care provider Ewing’s sarcoma Family troubles - resources that a disk has ruptured but everyone say I "probably just turned it wrong". I know the pain of a ruptureAortic rupture, chest x-ray Ruptured eardrum Tracheal/bronchial rupture. There is no pain like it.
My real question is to others of spinal fusions.....does this just keep going up the spine? And what's the deal with feeling like a rod is being shoved in my back yet again!!!!??
One more thing....the disk is moving side to side because the sciatica is being felt in one leg and then the other.
