4 months after breaking L1,2,3,4,T12, Still pain

I will try to keep this nice and short.
I fractured my L1,2,3,4,T12, and a rib back in January from snowboarding.
I took a MRI and this is what the doctors have told me.
They told me that there are not much i can do about it except to be stable.
I did not get a brace or anything.

Now that it has been exactly four months since the accident, i am still hurting. It is definitely better but no where near being completely healed.
Also, being a graduate student, i have not been able to rest as much as i would have liked to....

should i go back to the doctor?
Is it normal for back bone fracture to take longer than 4 months to heal?
thank you

I have never broken a bone in my back but my ankle took over a year to heal... I would go back to the doctor for a follow-up and maybe xray or mri... if you feel like something is wrong, please do not ignore it... good luck.
