Anterior cervical corpectomy with fusion

One week ago I had an Anterior cervical corpectomy with a fusion.I know this will take some time to getr over but I am having severe muscle spasms in my left arm and also my head feels like it is a heavy weight being supported by a tooth pick (my neck) is this common after surgery and will my mobility ever be normal again?

I had similar operation 8 years ago,a corpectomy on C5,with fusion and fixation of C2-C4,and am waiting for another that will do C6-C7 and fusion and fixation.I strongly believe in excercise.Everyone might have  similar operations ,but have different outcomes.I feel exactly like you feel ,but have not the spasms. 1.i would say that the heavy weight feeling is definitley common .2 .i do not know about your "mobility",and returning to "normal".3.For me excercise at all costs, the best you can,but its hard to know if you are doing to much or to little,a fine balance indeed. 4.Have you been back to your G.P. about your spasms.?
