Back pain due to calcium supplements?

Back pain due to calcium supplements?

About a month ago I started getting back pain. The pain was in my lower back and felt like a pop when it happened. It happened a few times a week. The doctor diagnosed it as a muscle spasm and suggested better posture. This seems to work and I did have very bad posture for various reasons. At the time I was also taking a Calcium+Vitamin D supplement. Coincidentally I just started taking the supplement again (I had stopped for a while) and my back pain has returned. My posture is good so that is no longer the cause.

Could the pain be brought on by the supplement? I have stopped taking them just in case but I would like to know if anybody has information on this.

Thanks.
