my mother who is 50 years of age has this problem of disc degeneration.....she has been having pain aswell as feels giddy when she gets up from lying or sitting position....she also experienced numbness in arms during sleep....i need to know what should be done....ay exercise and dietary advice would be appreciated..and one more thing, the octors told her to take milk but whenever she does she faces digestive problems like motions and even vomiting...
Dizziness and numbness sound neurological. Does she see one regularly? Milk recommendation is probably for more calcium or Vitamin D which can be gained through supplements if the milk doesn't agree with her. A disc issue can also cause numbness. The "giddy" felling could also be due to blood pressure issues or dehydration. Make sure she is getting plenty of fluids and has her blood pressure checked often (you can buy a home kit or go to most grocery stores or Walgreens/CVS). Good Luck!
Soy milk does have a lot of vitamins - be sure to check the label to choose the brand that best supplements what she needs. I know some brands are fortified with extra calcium or Vitamin D which might suit her best. I hope that helps her!
