Back pain

Hi everybody. I have been suffering from back pain chronically since April 2011. I have bulging discs and an annular tear. I severely hurt it 2 days ago as I bent over to pick up something. I felt a bad twinge/strain in my lower back and am very sore and badly hunched over when I walk. Especially after sitting down for a bit. Last time this happened I was badly hunched for a good 2 weeks. What can I do to help this pain and stiffness go away?
